144 watts / 12 volts = 12 amps. Anyway, the wire is not 20 gauge but near 12 or 14 awg which is fine for 15 or 20 amps.

Q: Can this be used to stabilize my power into a convertor on a solar LifePo system using 24 volt into 110 v convertor?

Not in the slightest. First of all, your "converter" is actually an inverter: it inverts from DC into AC at 120v. The 110 nomenclature has to do with the voltage drop associated with the wire run from the transformer to your home. The wattage (amperage times voltage) supplied by this unit is too small to power an inverter. You need a dedicated 24v inverter to run from a 24v battery/bank or a voltage regulator (different from a stabilizer) that can handle high amperage. Unfortunately these typically range from $800-$4,000 or so (not counting liars on Amazon) and you're far better off getting a quality 24v inverter. It's definitely inconvenient, but it's a matter of the sizes of wires required to dissipate heat and handle the higher current (amperage) values. Good luck and hopefully this helps somebody.

Keeps my Ham Radio from rebooting every time my car's Auto Stop kicks in.

I would highly recommend this product for your mobile ham radio needs. It keeps the voltage above the radio's voltage threshold to the point that the radio does not reboot on starting the car, either manually or by AutoStart. I have purchased 2 of these products and installed in both my car and my wife's .

So far so good!

I used this to control the 12v power stream to my Knight Rider custom dashboard and micro computer in my Knight Rider car. The car tells me the battery voltage is 11.9 to 12 at all times. Nice and stable! If you're looking for a way to keep your electronics stable without fear of over current damage, this may be your device. Its small. Easy to wire up as long as you can read English and can see colors.

Great for travel trailer fans

This unit worked great to regulate the voltage to my Maxxair fan I recently installed on my travel trailer, which is reportedly sensitive to voltage over 13v which is for me, anytime my solar panels are charging. I also picked this model because of the aluminum housing versus some the cheaper plastic ones I have seen reviews that they fail and melt. I most certainly DO NOT want to have to worry about a melting plastic regulator in the ceiling cavity of my wood framed travel trailer...

Doesn't live up to item description, as far as current capabilities in regulation of voltage.

Item was rated to handle voltage regulation at 12 Volts at 10 amps but, failed to do so with only a 1 amp draw. The voltage started to tank down drastically. Waiting for refund, as I believe I was sent someone else's already returned Item. I thought it was strange to receive parcel almost 3 days earlier than was stated it would be before delivery. Now, I have to go elsewhere to find good product.
