Great knife, poor sheath
After researching this knife and seeing that there were a number of quality control problems, I agonized over the decision to buy it. But I finally did, it came, and I've tested it out on some wood and a can. Haven't given it any really hard use yet, but it seems sturdy, and everything's fine. Sharp out of the box if that matters to you (though I've never been able to understand why). The problem is the sheath. I thought, "Meh, made in Mexico, so what?" but it's a poor thing. Poor stitching, poor fit, the knife scrapes leather off when you sheathe it. I suppose it's passable but I'll be purchasing a kydex or nylon sheath instead. All in all, well worth the money. And I'll certainly correct that statement if it fails spectacularly.Update on March 6, 2019: This knife still survives. It's barely black anymore. I had to buff some rust off after leaving it out in the wet during a couple camping trips. But it still holds an edge. It's sturdy. It's seen so much abuse now. Splitting wood; chopping down saplings. Levering things I probably shouldn't have been doing with it. So much hammering. It's quality and then some. The sheath it came with does suck, but that's not a big problem. This is the only knife of its size I've ever owned, but I've never had any complaints with the knife itself, at all. I love it and couldn't recommend it more if you factor in the extra bit of money to buy a new sheath.Update seven years later: It's still intact after an insane amount of abuse. The tip FINALLY just came off when I was levering apart a log from the top because I was dumb and too lazy to chop and I shouldn't have been doing that. It still holds an edge perfectly, though. A good half of the black's come off, but only one or two rust spots, and I'm not even as good as I should be about keeping it oiled. Love this thing.

Excellent craftsmanship and speedy delivery
The knife arrived early in the Ka-Bar packaging box (pictured). The box includes the knife, the leather sheath, and a printout with information and care instructions. The knife also arrived very sharp out of the box. Far sharper than other knives I’ve purchased. This knife also came with the serrated edge where not all of the Ka-Bars include this. I am beyond happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market.

It's a KA-BAR, people. What else do you need to know?
So I have one of those damnable heat-welded plastic packages that are hard to get into, this one with a couple of HDMI cables in it. I pull out my pocket knife. I look at the tiny blade on my pocket knife. I looking at the thick heat-welded plastic packaging around those HDMI cables. I look at the tiny blade on my pocket knife. I say "Oh hell no", reach over and grab my KA-BAR, and that packaging is *toast*, people.Okay, so that's not what I bought it for -- opening packages, I mean, I bought it as a general purpose hunting knife -- but after I dressed the blade it's sharp enough to cut paper, and it's *definitely* plenty sturdy, so it's getting used now for things I didn't even envision using it for when I bought it. Hey, if it survives a buncha jarheads using it to open crates and hammer in tent stakes, it's certainly going to survive anything that *I* throw at it. Unless I try to chop concrete with the blade or something else stupid like that, but hey, that's why I got the Army version rather than the Marine version, so I wouldn't do stupid things like that. Right? Right?!

Good quality knife, arrived on time
Ordered from TOMAR'S KA-BAR KNIVES, a licensed distributor of KA-BAR knifes. Knife arrived on time and in good condition, already razor sharp and well-balanced in weight. Leather sheath is in good condition and stitched well. This KA-BAR, with serrated edge, will be useful for multiple outdoor activities in the woods, desert, prairies, high seas, and beyond (I cannot recommend its use on the Moon or other outer space environments).Vendor sent me a message letting me know of estimated delivery time via USPS, which was nice. I would recommend this product, purchased from this vendor.

Kabar delivers once again!
I love Kabar, and these knives always arrive just as I expect them to be. Great, solid, handle construction, lovely stacked leather, a nice and evenly applied blade coating, and a fairly nice blade sharpness out of the box. The serrations are correct and sharp, and very useful, and the knife feels great! Balanced, easy to hold, easy to have sheathed...just a great knife. The standard sheath is nothing special, but it's great and holds up well.If this is what you're looking for, go for it. You'd be hard-pressed to find a knife of similar durability, usability, quality, and just overall niceness. Kabar, you're great. This knife is no exception.

It's just to good
The only thing I can personally complain about is the fact of the serrations are not on both sides of the blade. Other than that it's strong, sharp an will cut anything I've but it through like "Hot Butter" I pulled it out the box an to see how sharp it was I shaved some hair off my arm. It holds an edge an sharpness very well. Flawless item for your survival guy, military man or anyone who collects knives!

Beautifully made Kinife and Sheath
It's a gift for my older brother who served in Iraq and even stayed in sSadam Hussain's Palace. I am so proud of my brother and I would have been over there with him but I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus at 15 years of age and since then had chronic kidney disease so I was disqualified when I applied at 18. My brother is a true bad ass and went on patroles and even worked on the amored vehicles out in the field if a APC or Humvee went had a mechanical issue that could be fixed or rigged to get back to the FOB and somtines he did this underfire. The army never gave him a blade of his own to keep just a bayonet he had to return. So I got the U.S ARMY KA-BAR so he has something to honor him and his service. The sheath is beautifuly done with KA-BAR and U.S ARMY engraved in the leather and U.S Army engraved in the blade by the Handel
