I don't disparage Plutarch, but be wary - the 42 pages should tip you off something is amiss here. This is *only* the comparative portion of the lives - contains none of the individual biographies.

This is not the "complete" Plutarch Lives. It is only the commentary. You have to buy the actual Lives separately.

This book was seriously weird, at least to me. I know this is almost completely because I lack context in terms of all of the characters the author discusses, but nonetheless I finished the book having gained some level of wisdom. It's actually very clever that even though I knew very little about the references he was making, there were times where he would sum up a sort of life lesson that really stuck. Here's an easy example he gives early on: "those preoccupied with little things cannot accomplish big things". I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought but I am still very happy I read it. It's quite short too so it didn't feel like a waste of time.

My little classics nerd loved this. Great quality and no faults.

This book is a photo reproduction and the type is very small - unless you have exceptional and young vision this would be almost impossible to read - cavate emptor!!! T.
