Does this have waas functionality? what is the differnece between waas and multiband?

No, the 65s does not have WAAS. The previous 64 series did. It was probably dropped to save battery life. This is unfortunate, as losing WAAS partially offset the accuracy gains obtained from the multiband functionality. WAAS is a ground and satellite based supplementary system operated by the FAA that corrects the GPS (U.S.) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Multiband is a Garmin product designation, limited to the 65s and 66sr models, that indicates that the product can receive signals simultaneously from several different GNSS (U.S., Russia, Europe, etc.), and also 2 different signals from the U.S. system. The 64 series can receive signals from only 2 sources simultaneously - one from the U.S. GNSS + either the Russian or the European GNSS.

With the Garmin Vehicle Power cable plug into any 12 V cigarette lighter receptacle to power your GPSMAP 65s and conserve battery life. Includes 1.5-amp replaceable fuse.
