Perfect Gift - Better Than Expected!
Fast delivery and good quality product. It has a nice feel to it and prints photos much better than I expected. Great photo printer!

Very good
I really love this printer. It works out as one of the cheapest per print (around ÂŁ0.30 per image) and the format looks like a traditional polaroid although much thinner. I think having a cheaper cost per image is super important for something like this because there is no point in buying a printer if you never print anything because it feels too expensive! I was worried that it would just print would not look like a traditional polaroid as the dimensions of the photos are described as 76mm by 76mm which is true but this does not include the rip-able strip at the bottom which brings it to 76mm by 83mm. Although to note this strip is not a printable surface but I think it looks cool and you can write a note/date on it. I was also worried that the strip would fall off too easily but it is on there pretty strongly and is unlikely to accidentally fall off unless bent. I was also worried that the photo stock would be too flimsy but I think it's the perfect thickness. It's thick enough where it feels like it won't rip/tear easily but is thick enough where you could tape into journals/scrapbooks without affecting the thickness too much. The image quality is not amazing but if you are looking for detailed image quality it would be better to just get them professionally developed. This is definitely more focused on convenience and for a more retro look. The one thing I hate is the plastic waste this creates. Each cartridge contains enough for 10 prints but you need to throw out a whole plastic tray and the plastic sheet paper spool. It seems pretty wasteful and to my knowledge these are not actually recycled anywhere. It is a toss up between this and zink printers (zero ink like hp sprocket) for eco friendliness. Zink printers don't have the plastic tray and spool but the images degrade over time and are not as detailed. The photos they produce are also not recyclable. You also can't really take them on holiday as the x-ray scanners used in airports can damage/degrade the film. This printer, despite the single use plastic, produces higher quality images and are advertised to last a 100 years and you can travel with them. Is that worth the extra plastic waste? I don't know. If you are eco conscious it would probably be best not to buy any portable printers and just order them professionally in bulk. The way I rationalise it is that if I need a bulk amount of photos printed for a photo book or something I'll get them professionally developed. This is more for the occasional photo to put on a corkboard/scrapbooking/give to friends on a night out. In terms of the app, I'm using android and I found it perfectly serviceable. I read of others not liking the app but I found it decent. It found and connected to the print easily, has options for basic photo editing and whatnot. Also has options for printing duplicates which is good for handing out photos. It also has options for collages which you could use to cut up into smaller images if you want. I haven't had any issues with jamming personally. I think the issues others had were probably disturbing the print mid-print. It has 4 passes where the photo goes in and out, and at the end it will eject it. If you leave it alone and only touch the photo once it has ejected it should be good (as long as you don't get a lemon). It is capable of printing 4-5 photos before getting too hot and needing to cool down, so if you are planning on printing a bunch a once quickly this is not the device for that. The printing process is not super fast (around 45 seconds I think) but I like the noises it makes so I don't mind. In comparison to the retro 2 I personally like the photo stock dimensions much better as you are able to fit more in the frame and I think look better on a corkboard or journal. The USB-C charging is great as well. The construction of the device is pretty decent. It's obviously plastic casing but feels solid enough, I really like the retro styling. Mine is 370 grams and is 13cm, 10.5cm, 3cm. All in all a good device, just wish it didn't produce as much waste.

no cartridges for printing included, will have to buy separately.
Liked the size of the photos, ie square and can be borderless or have border. Can just colour for better results but some do come out dark. ink and paper has to be purchased separately, it didn't say that on purchase . I thought one set of paper would come with. Printer looks nice and prints quickly. Hope it continues to work well.

Doesn't print properly
After cropping the photo the way I liked it on the app, the photos came out completely wrong and not at all how I edited them on the app. I tried 5 times by cropping the photos outside the app and then uploading them on the app but the printer still did whatever it wanted. Can't use it so had to return it. Very disappointed.

Ottima stampante.
Ottima stampante.
