**Q: Are these safe for food? In a grill?**
A: you might use them in the construction of the grill, like if you're building your own yakitori grill, but I dont think you allow the food to touch or cook on the bricks

**Q: Is there any firebrick and mortar I can buy that can tolerate 3,800°F-6,000°F?**
A: They are industrial grade firebrick these will not work for that application

**Q: measurement of the bricks.  9X4&1/2?**
A: Yes, they measure 9" by 4.5" by 1.25". They are identical to the original fire bricks in my Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove. My stove is 9 years old.

**Q: What is the best way to join these together?**
A: Your best bet to join these bricks would be to use a refractory mortar, such as the Rutland Fireplace Mortar.  If outdoors, you will need to use the Rutland Castable Refractory Cement.
