Great Razor!!!! 5 Stars!
***MARCH 2020: STILL FIVE STARS! Over 2 years of use and still going strong. My husband came across his former very expensive electric shaver sitting in a drawer the other day (we’re re-doing the bathroom) and since he has never used it again since he got his Big Foot - decided to give away the electric shaver. The re-fills are extremely economical and very safe to dispose of using the inexpensive disposal containers. His shaves are quick, super smooth, and produce no irritation. I will try to remember to come back and post links to the blades and shaving gel he also uses.*** Great product. My husband loves it. High quality Double Edge Stainless Steel Razor at a good price. Have had it several mos now & still looks brand new & shiny. Cleans easily with a quick rinse. Blade changes are easy. Handle has non-slip grip. Stainless Steel means no rust & long life expectancy. Good old fashioned safety blade razor gives a better shave, more shaves, & for a better price than modern multi-blade razors. Part of why this is easier to shave with & stays sharper is because there is no struggling to clean all the "gook" stuck between all those blades on a multi-bladed razor. That gook makes it hard to complete a shave (& get a nice clean, close shave) & also contributes to the blade cartridge needing to be replaced sooner if it's not 100% clean & dry after every shave (which they never are!). The Bigfoot cleans up super easy with just a quick rinse under water or if need be open it up to really rinse it out thoroughly. The razor comes with a starter pack of high quality blades. You will instantly recognize the higher quality & sharpness of each of these "single" double edged blades when you compare them to each of the razor edges in a "multi" - bladed razor cartridge. Refill blades are available from many brands. We found Double Edge Swedish SS Blades, 2 X 100 pack for $9.50; here on Amazon. (Remember to look for Double Edge blades - not Single Edge Blades! Those are the kind the Olde Fashioned Barber uses lol.) This is a single blade - but it has a double edge; simply flip it to use the other side before needing to rinse. There can be a very slight learning curve for some people when switching to this type razor. We alleviated this (for me, hubby was fine) by switching to a Clear type of Shaving Gel (also bought on Amazon) which makes it easier to see what & where you're shaving & haven't had another nick since!

Great Razor, Outstanding Seller!
All the razors sold by this company feel like top quality that will last for years, And the company could Not possibly offer better service & commitment to making sure their customers are 100% pleased! How could you Possibly go wrong? For Years I shaved with a straight razor until I got to lazy to sharpen it every time I used it. I never really liked the shave I got from cartridge razors nor the price. After receiving a 3 Piece Safety Razor for Christmas that gave a shave very close to my straight edge without the hassle & for a fraction of the cost for blades, I was thrilled to be introduced to Safety Razors (something my Dad & Grandpa had used)! Alas the razor I had been given while giving a nice shave wasn't made very well, so when it needed to be replaced due to the screw wearing out (soft metal).I thought I'd give a Butterfly razor a shot for even more convenience... After reading the high reviews I was at first underwhelmed by the shave I got from this razor & emailed the seller about it, asking what was wrong, & explaining my shaving history. Chuck (the Owner/Partner) was so eager to make sure I was 100% pleased he shipped me a new 3 piece razor before I had a chance to order & try different blades off Amazon (Something others had recommended trying, but I had never needed to do)! After trying both the Butterfly (with different blades --Feathers for those interested in a more aggressive blade) & the 3 piece, here is what I experienced... The Butterfly seems very tame with the stock blades (probably the best bet for those starting out), & with a more aggressive blade cut as good as either 3 piece I have owned with the added convenience of changing blades without dismantling it, & is Very comfortable to use! The 3 piece does give me a Very close & Comfortable shave with the blades that come with it. With the Feather blades, I do get a somewhat closer shave, but also have nicked myself (for the first time in Years), & am somewhat prone to razor burn, It Really is about tailoring the blade to the shaver/razor, & I honestly can't figure out what Razor/Blade combo I will like best once I use them a bit more. I have a Very light beard & still found I needed more aggressive blades (possibly because of years of using a straight razor ?), so Don't think that a light beard Always calls for a less aggressive blade or visa-versa... Order a sample pack off Amazon & find what works best for you!

An excellent razor at an affordable price!
I started shaving my head about 2 years ago, and of course I used cartridge razors at first. Then I heard about DE razors and wet shaving, and I had to try it out. I bought some proraso shaving soap, a brush, aftershave, and an alum block. I decided on this razor as sort of an entry level razor to make my way into wet shaving. The price was right and it had pretty good reviews. At first....I cut myself a lot, serious bleeders. One time I nicked my ear and it bled forever. Once I got used to the technique, from watching lots of videos, it became easy and I wondered how I ever cut myself in the first place. It took a lot longer than using cartridge blades obviously, with the prep, doing two passes and a clean up pass, etc. But the whole process was relaxing and meditative and became a nightly routine. So then I decided to graduate to a more expensive, well known option. I did tons of research and I settled on the Edwin Jagger DE89. I was so excited to receive it. I gave the bigfoot razor to my wife for her legs. I used it for several months, and I just wasn't getting as close of a shave. It took another pass, and I had a really hard time getting my head smooth. Some spots I'd go over and over and just couldn't seem to get all the stubble. So a couple weeks ago I switched with my wife, and now she uses the Edwin Jagger and I used this one. Perhaps it is a more aggressive razor, I'm not sure. So today, I tried a merkur 34C, which I hear so much about. It was definitely better than the Edwin Jagger, but the jury is still out when compared with this razor. I'm going to try the merkur for a couple weeks, but I have a feeling that I'll end up with this bigfoot shaves razor again in the end. Thank you Bigfoot Shaves for being my intro into wet shaving!

Nice Quality at a great price
Got this razor for Christmas and have been very satisfied so far. The weight is substantial, but not overly heavy, and the finish and butterfly operation are both very good. The little case should be good for travel, but I normally just have this on my counter top stand. I am brand new to wet shaving, so I am still learning the angle and pressure to use, but it seems to do a pretty good job. At the price paid (~$20), I would not hesitate to recommend someone to give this razor a try.

No more razor burn...UNREAL BRAH!
Lately, it has become a matter of urgency for all of us to re-consider how we can cut down our household waste. On that frequency, I purchased this razor in hopes that it would be my last. I have been using Venus razors for as long as I can remember and I should also mention that I have areas of my legs which are extremely sensitive and have had to deal with unsightly razor burn my entire adult life. Living in Hawai’i, where it’s mostly summer, I was always conscious of these little itchy red bumps while at the beach. So, even though this razor is marketed toward men, LISTEN UP WOMEN! It’s totally amazing and I no longer have razor burn! Unreal! I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars! Such a quality product and a super reasonable price. Now, that’s what I call a great business model! The idea of shaving with a straight razor blade freaked me out initially and I had to give myself a nice pep talk beforehand. Once pepped, I kept the razor on a wash cloth to insure no slipping in the shower. First, I exfoliated under warm water before using a natural coconut oil soap for lube on the areas I was shaving. I went extremely slow the first time and drew no blood. Success! A sustainable product that is of superior stainless steel! I think an important part of caring for one of these is cleaning the razor and blade with rubbing alcohol after each shave and making sure it is completely dry before re-assembling and storing. Also, storing it somewhere dry to prevent rust can only help the (hopefully) long life of this beauty.

I absolutely love this razor
I absolutely love this razor. I have a very tough beard and sensitive skin. Not a good combination. I've tried several different disposable razors and razors with disposable blades. The problem was hair and shaving cream/gel would jam in between the blades on the multi-blade razor heads and cause even more irritation to my skin. I found it nearly impossible to clean all the gunk out of the blades. I finally found that using the cheapest single blade disposable razor worked best, but because of its design gunk still got caught between the blade and the razor. Then I had the bright idea to go retro. My first instinct was to go to a straight razor where I could easily clean the blade while shaving. However, I was reluctant to commit to the stropping and potential hazards of a straight razor. Then I remembered the double edged razors of my youth. After checking out several online I decided to get this one. It seemed like it was good quality but not so expensive that if it didn't work out I wouldn't feel bad about chucking it. I was very pleased at its quality when I got it and found it worked perfectly. After a couple off passes on one edge I can rotate the razor and make a couple of passes on the other edge. The gunk rinses out of the razor easily, but if anything gets stuck I can easily twist the razor open and rinse it or even remove the blade, rinse it, put it back, close the razor, and continue in only a few seconds.

Quality feel and very shiny, but slippery in the hand when shaving
This is a very early impression. This razor has a nice quality feel, and it has nice weight to it. Any heavier, and I might need a truss, but thankfully good in that regard. The finish is extra super shiny chrome, inside and out. Open up the razor using the butterfly mechanism, and the inside has the exact same finish. So far, my only complaint is that even though the handle looks like it would provide a good grip when wet, it really doesn't. I found myself frequently readjusting my grip so I could keep the angle I wanted. Some have noted that the butterly mechanism is a little loose, but I found it did tighten down nicely on the blade. Speaking of the blades, I didn’t really like the included blades. I had the best luck with some Astra and Feather blades I bought in a sampler pack. UPDATE: I ultimately returned it due to issues with the slippery handle. Your mileage may vary, but it turned into a deal breaker for me.

What are you waiting for?
After not shaving for many years, I decided I would try it again. Well lookie there, another internet subculture. So after searching here and there and reading this and that, boom overwhelming. So I figured I would look around for something simple and new. This seemed like a good option in the middle of the road so lets give it a try. It was a good choice. Easy to load blades, use and clean. Shaves well. It is light and a short handle, so its easy to use. I hear that eventually its cheaper to shave with a safety razor and this helps with that since it wont take you six months of shaving before you recoup your initial cost. You can get this, use what you have for shaving cream and give this technique a shot. If you like it there are plenty of options for higher end shaving gear that you might lust after but not really need. If you dont like it, then you are not out more than its going to cost you for some cartridge razor stuff and maybe you can resell this or share it with someone else or even recycle it.
