It was seriously a wild ride from start to finish, and boy! did the tears flow more than once. It was a great conclusion to Yumeko, Tatsumi, Okame, Daisuke, Reika and Chu, and Suki’s story. I cannot say enough how thrilled I was that Julie Kagawa did not shy away from certain plot developments and natural story flow like a lot of authors do in order to get that perfect happy ending, either. And that ending!!! Seriously that last little paragraph made my heart skip a beat. I need a whole other three books about everyone’s reunions, especially Yumeko and Tatsumi’s. I really enjoyed this series so much. I’d really like to know how JK managed to take an incredibly evil and monstrous character like Hakaimono and make him a sarcastic smart mouth that I actually kind of liked, too. And it was so nice to see Tatsumi actually have a personality this time around, which was something I struggled with throughout this series, given he spent the first being being an emotionless tin soldier and the second book possessed by a demon. Yumeko had it right: “When did you learn sarcasm?” Plus he was a total warrior this time around, kicking butt left and right. I mean, I know he was a demonslayer, but I didn’t ever feel like it really lived up to the title that much until this book. Yumeko is still a bright and shining light and purity, and I really respected her choice at the end. Overall this book was a great conclusion to the story. I felt like the characters were way more fleshed out and I really enjoyed the fact there didn’t seem to be any slow moments in this book. Everything mattered, and there was no unnecessary filler. I loved the ending, even if I wish it were just a bit longer haha. Review: The best ending ever - I'm sitting here in tears. This book has left me speechless. This series is AMAZING. I'm blown away... I am so far behind on my work, my house is a mess, I haven't cooked dinner...I paused everything to finish this book and it was worth every single minute. I feel honored and blessed to have discovered this series. The writing, the imagery, the twists, the LOVE all the emotions just lept from the pages. I have NEVER read a death scene so wonderfully written as the one in this story. I'm not giving away any spoilers but if you have read the other 2 books this one blows them all out of the water. Simply magnificent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Please write a sequel(Don't read if you don't want a spoiler.) *by Z***N on August 4, 2020* I seriously would have guven this book 5 stars if JK wrote a sequel. The ending was just not fair. It is, in a way, a cliff hanger. There's a lot more questions raised with the ending of this book. For example, It didn't really tell me how Tatsumi looked different from what he originally looked like. I mean, It said he looked liked his brother, Kousuke or something(in the epilogue ) but what did he looked like exactly? and also, the book said he had purple eyes while his grandmother had black ones. And I don't think there is a llot of people with purple eyes so wouldn't his parents find that part weird? Unless they had the same colored eyes. Then it raises the question on how exactly he knew Yameka. Also, Pleas explain his dreams. Most people won't remember their past lives because if they did, there will be a lot more people remembering random people they've supposedly never seen before. Also, how are they going to explain how they "knew" eachother? It's not like Tatsumi(you didn't tell us his new name either!!!) can go up to his grandma and say" Oh yeah, I knew her from my past life when I was a demonslayer using a sword possesed by the First Oni." I mean, sure, he can leave out the part where he said he was a demonslayer and stuff, but she's not going tok believe him and think both Yameka and Tatsumi is going mad. Also, I really want Yameka to meet her other friend who died too! So, well, other than the loose ends this book is very interesting except the ending is just sad. If you say "use your imagination!" well, let's just say, you(JK) are a book writer, and if I was able to think about something like that and make a good story out of it, I'd already be a book writer. Also, Please tell me poor Taka (the one eyed demon who was used then discarded) reincarnated as well. That was too cruel. Hearing about him made him, although he's a minor character, a bit too sad that he became a tool that was just thrown away. If you make another book, maybe he could be a lingering ghost that found peace in the end? Because I'm pretty sure if you were betrayed like that you will be angry and linger. Also maybe you can make a side-story from Yameka's dad's point of view. I'm pretty sure he wasn't always that way as the memory he had from when Tatsumi stabbed him was of a kitsune dying. If that is not enough content for a book, try adding what Yameka did while she was on her trips. Or maybe you won't make another book. But I really hope you do(if you're reading this, JK.)
