MORGAN’S MARSH – Lithograph Fine Art Limited Edition Prints – image size: 15-1/4″ H x 25″ W. Some years back, I was privileged to spend extensive time at a hunting camp located on the Choptank River in MD, where I could photograph to my heart’s content the myriad wildlife found along its shores and waters. Some of the most spectacular scenes were witnessing the thousands of waterfowl first arriving at their wintering destination from long journeys from the north. The cacophony was absolutely unreal, and in this particular scene at Morgan Bennett’s dock, I had to eliminate many of the flocks in the photos because of sheer magnitude of numbers. In addition to the thousands of Canada geese, there were hundreds of ducks in smaller flocks also arriving. Nothing can compare to the awesome majesty of watching the arrival or departure of migrating birds when they first arrive from, or lift off to depart for, other far away climes. I entered this painting in the VA Ducks Unlimited print-of-the year competition for 1989, and won 2nd place. VA DU printed and sold this edition, but I have a few still available. Unframed
