We love a decent horror movie. Honestly, we even love terrible horror movies. So when we realized this franchise was up to 8 movies (despite only seeing 3 ourselves) we bought the collection. It arrived on time and we're enjoying working our way through them in order of release. We may watch them again in order of TIMELINE (IYKYK) after this.

All Saw Movies
They all came in 1 Blu ray dvd case. They all worked when I placed them in my player so that is what you should expect. So nothing bad to say really.Would I recommend it? YesWould I purchase it again? Yes but I shouldn't unless my discs end up getting destroyed...

Great movies; okay collection
Whenever I set out to review a collection of books or films (such as this one), I'm never sure whether potential readers of my review would prefer to hear about the quality of the movies themselves or whether they already know they want to buy the movies and want only to hear about the quality of the collection. As such, I'm going to offer commentary, albeit only briefly, about each of those elements. The films themselves are great. I assume most people interested in buying an 8-movie collection are at least passingly familiar with the characters or plot of the Saw movies, so I won't belabor the point, but I will say that, though some of the films are of course stronger than others, the franchise as a whole is excellent. The character of Jigsaw represents a refreshingly complex horror villain who manages to deliver not only the gore effects and creative kills we've come to expect from slasher movies (though he does deliver those in spades!) but also a nuanced and complicated sort of pseudo-morality that, though never shoved down the audience's throat, can actually be quite thought provoking if you allow your mind to wander a bit during or after the films. Each of the films on its own would merit four or five star reviews, and I would likely round up to five stars. The collection itself is more of a mixed bag. To begin with, I certainly appreciate the convenience of having the entire series collected in a single case. The only film missing is the forthcoming (2021) film, Spiral, which has not yet been released as of the time this collection came out (or at the time of this review), so it gets strong points for completeness. It also features both Blu-ray and DVD copies of the films, which perhaps maximizes the potential audience for the set. However, it's worth noting that, though the collection does come with 9 discs, it does not feature a single film per disc (with one left over for, perhaps, special features). Rather, the Blu-ray collection is condensed onto four discs and the DVD collection onto 5, so most (but not all) of the discs contain multiple films. In and of itself, that would not be a problem, though it creates a slight problem when it comes to space in the case. In fact, that's the only real "problem" with the set: in order to fit all these discs into a relatively small case, corners were cut on the disc-holding inserts. The effect is that the case doesn't hold discs securely. You'll have to be very careful when flipping through the discs to make sure they don't pop out (after all, loose discs will easily become scratched).Combining the positive element of conveniently collecting the entire series with the negative element of a poorly-designed case, I would award the collection a three-star rating.Averaging the film-based and the collection-based ratings, then, I give this a four-star rating. If you have the money to buy all eight films individually, that might be a better way to purchase the collection. However, for most of us, the convenience of the single-collection outweighs the slight flaws in this collection's design, so I do recommend it to most people.

Great to have almost entire collection in One Place.
I don't care for multi-disc collections; however, this one came brand new with all discs intact. Pleasantly, none of the discs have fallen out!
