I had a big Shany case in the past but I have downsized my makeup. This is perfect for an average amount of makeup, and it has a nice little mirror. It is very sturdy. I don't think it has a shoulder strap like the bigger ones, but I don't think you need it.The interior is hard plastic so it will be really easy to keep clean which is an upgrade from my old case.

This little box is exactly what I wanted. I have been wearing make-up for more years than I am willing to admit to, yet I have never managed to keep it all in one convenient place. Over the years I've stored my make-up in various baskets, bins, and boxes. I've used juice glasses and coffee cups to hold mascara, eyeliner, and lipsticks. Because my make-up was scattered among different containers, I invariably forgot some of it when I traveled. This terrific box brought an end to all that disorganization. What I love about it:1) A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE. I was able to to organize my makeup neatly by category in the fold-out drawers: foundation, powder, concealer, and blush in the bottom, makeup brushes and tools in the center, eye shadow and mascara in the top. ( I could easily fit two or more lipsticks in the box too, but since I reapply lipstick throughout the day, I tend to keep it in my purse instead.)2) LINED DRAWERS FOR EASY CLEAN-UP. Each fabric-lined drawer has a sturdy clear plastic cover on the the bottom, which makes wiping up smears and spills a breeze.3) BUILT TO LAST. I looked at many, many makeup boxes in person before buying this one online, and most of them were too flimsy. This great little box has sturdy metal supports for the drawers, and it folds out nice and straight. The box itself is well-made, with good quality hardware, and the case has some heft to it without being too heavy. I fully expect to get many years of use from this box.4) STYLE. In addition to being sturdy and practical, the Shany Mini Makeup Train Case is just plain cute. The quilted texture of the metal sides and top adds style and I love the girly pink color I chose.I noticed that some reviewers thought this makeup case was too small, but it is exactly right for me; I wouldn't want it any bigger. I actually keep my skincare items in another location, so I don't need a case that holds every product I use on my skin, just my makeup. I don't wear tons of makeup but do use all the basics: foundation, blush, powder, and eye makeup. If you want a case that holds everything you need to put your best face forward each day, this is the one.

I'm in my mid-30's but I've never been that into makeup so I was never in need of a case (I usually kept my makeup in a tiny makeup bag.) Recently, though, I've been trying out new makeup and also getting a bunch of freebies so my usual makeup bags were starting to pile up and take more room than was necessary.After doing some quick research I decided to purchase this Shany brand black makeup train case. Here are my thoughts:Pros- The design is beautiful. It looks professional and I love the variety of colors you can choose from.- It's well made; strong and well built.- There are many compartments which makes organizing makeup simple.- The price is good for this product.Cons- It's small so be aware of the measurements. I still don't have anywhere near the amount of makeup the average woman has and even I couldn't get all of my products to fit in this case so make sure you're aware of that before you purchase.- It was tough to figure out exactly which compartment was causing the case to not close properly due to being overstuffed. I didn't even think I put too many products in because I didn't have to jam anything in. But because the compartments fold into each other it's easy to overfill without realizing it. It took several open/shut, remove, open/shut, remove for me to find the sweet spot.As you can see, the "cons" are mostly issues that can be avoided had I paid more attention to the measurements of this case instead of relying on photos. This being my first real makeup case, I can forgive myself of that lapse in consumer due diligence. I'm hoping my review can help others take careful note of the size of this case so they can avoid the "cons" that I posted.Overall, this is a great little case to have. It's beautiful, well-built, and has saved me a lot of room by allowing me to consolidate most of my products into it. I can't believe I lived so long without one. I went from having 4-5 small makeup bags taking space to this one case and one makeup bag (for the products that didn't fit in the case). I'm very pleased.

The SHANY Mini MakeupTrain Case was just perfect.... perfectly beautiful and the perfect size for my 5 year old grand-daughter. Basically, the case was well packaged. The only complaint I have is that there was a couple of small scratches in the silver front edge. I do NOT believe this occurred during shipping, as the case was securely wrapped and in adequate packing material and the there were no indentations in the box and no evidence of anything breaking through the packaging. My conclusion is that the minor "scrapes" damage occurred prior to or during the wrapping. I decided to keep and gift the case anyway.... as I am sure that the case would have a few more "scratches" within a short period of time.... and it did. With that said, the SHANY Train Case is quite striking. The purple color and the diamond pattern make the case quite chic. The case is light enough that even when filled with all my grand-daughter's makeup and trinkets she can independently carry the case all around. And so far, the case is standing up to the life of a five year old!

Mirror is the only small concern. It will drop at the slightest movement of case. Other than that it organizes very well all my makeup and I carry it everywhere with me!

Me encanto la calidad del estuche y sus espacios pero me quedo un poco pequeño, ya pedi la version mas grande para mi casa, y este lo usare para otras cosas, les paso foto de ambos para que vean el tamaño y los espacios, espero sea de ayuda en la toma de decisiones.

I bought this case because my makeup was scattered in three different bags and finding the item I was looking for at the right time was frustrating so after looking at options on Amazon I selected the Shany Mini Makeup Train Case. I did ask questions prior to purchasing to ensure that some of my bigger items would indeed fit since some reviews said it was fairly small.It easily holds all the items I use regularly. I have the top shelf for my daily makeup items and then use the lower shelves for things I use weekly but not daily so I don't have to open the whole box to get my frequently used items. It does hold the Urban Decay Naked II palette which is a rather large item and the one I was most worried about. You could stack several of them in the bottom compartment as it is deeper than the top three.There were lots of colour options and I chose the blue which I thought might be metallic, but it is not (which is okay - just hard to tell online). It's a very pretty colour and it's a solid case that closes tightly and keeps everything inside safe.My only complaint is that the lining of the drawers is fabric and covered with a plastic piece sewn on the bottom of each tray. Makeup can spill and powder doesn't always stay in containers so it would be nice if the drawers were plastic so they could easily be wiped down and dried.Edited to add: I have the case sitting on my bathroom counter and in order to be able to open and lift the levels it means the hinges face out. I'm not sure if mine is backwards or if it was supposed to be like this.

Robust little case with surprising amount of internal space. Lots of trays and a clear mirror, although the ribbon holding it upright might be a weak point... Arrived in plenty of time for Christmas and was well protected by packaging.Looks great and is very practical.
