## Description

RACO 6239NI 1-Gang Wood Floor Boxes in Nickel finish allowa for the placement of electrical power or a combination of power and voice/data devices. Safe and recessed tamper resistant duplex receptacle allows plug to be concealed, especially for children. Complies with NEC Article 406.11. Can be used for power or data. Equipped with back and side knockouts for proper wiring access, whether for cable, plug, cord, usb, or ethernet. Protects electrical connection and prevents accidental disconnection. No unsightly plugs of different equipment on the surface of the floor as it also reduces plug protrusion. Features removable neoprene gaskets to allow for independent use of either side of the receptacle with the cover closed. Pre-assembled flange and cover for fast installation. May be installed on granite, flooring, wood, a countertop, an outdoor concrete wall, a ceiling, or by a window. Height can be adjusted after the box is mounted. Includes steel box, nickel cover and flange, nickel finish, and 15A/125V tamper resistant receptacle.

Review: Try to open the lid BEFORE installing - had to file the locking pins - works great - easy install! - Prior to installing I discovered the lid was extremely hard to open pushing up from the underside with both thumbs. I did not want scratch it so I did NOT try pry it open from the top. After reclosing it I was unable to push it open again, and I'm quite strong, I popped it open again from the underside using a wooden dowel that I banged downward to the floor..Then I siad to self - "go ahead file those damn pins". After several test trials I got the easy opening I wanted. The product is quite superior to a lot of the junk that is out here on the market. Tip: Scan the template on the back side of the instructions so you can easily cut out the template without destroying the instructions on the front page.

Yeah, that's the point of them, you're not supposed to be able to open them without a tool. If you expect to use these to plug and unplug a variety of things often, get something else. These are meant to have something plugged in, and snapped shut. That's why there is the rubber grommet in the lid for the cord to come through. They aren't hard to open if you just stick a flat blade screwdriver in there and pry it up. I like that they stay shut as I put two of these under my sofas since they have power recliners. It's way better than having a dumb cord running across the floor since my sofas are not against walls. You do have to cut a pretty good sized hole in the floor and the template should actually be a little bigger, but upon test fit, you'll figure it out; go a little wider and all is well.

Prior to installing I discovered the lid was extremely hard to open pushing up from the underside with both thumbs. I did not want scratch it so I did NOT try pry it open from the top. After reclosing it I was unable to push it open again, and I'm quite strong, I popped it open again from the underside using a wooden dowel that I banged downward to the floor..Then I siad to self - "go ahead file those damn pins". After several test trials I got the easy opening I wanted. The product is quite superior to a lot of the junk that is out here on the market. Tip: Scan the template on the back side of the instructions so you can easily cut out the template without destroying the instructions on the front page.

I see a lot of other reviews whining that they're hard to open. Yeah, that's the point of them, you're not supposed to be able to open them without a tool. If you expect to use these to plug and unplug a variety of things often, get something else. These are meant to have something plugged in, and snapped shut. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sitting flush?

Works great, if yours isn’t sitting flush with the floor, widen your hole a bit, it could be pinching the brackets on either side which caused a clearance problem for me. Trimmed a little more on each side and boom fit perfect. When you screw or in it also will synch everything down. This is solid, looks great.
