The hose comes out of the box as male and female, with an additional female coupling. Can the male end be unscrewed and replaced with the female?

Good kit, useless quick connect air chuck

Whilst the kit is of good quality, the provided air chuck (the piece you actually connect to the tire valve) is quite useless. It takes a lot of finicking and precise positioning of the hose draped over the tire to actually get the chuck to inflate your tire rather than drain air from it. Simple to fix with another air chuck but it would be better when the provided one worked without any hassle.
