The greatest drone you can get for the money!!
This drone is absolutely fantastic, awesome, great! It takes a while to understand controls, to get used to it. Don't hurry up, learn little by little. It's cheaper to gradually improve your drone's pilot skills, than to buy another drone ;)Be careful, this drone is made of plastic and it is fragile, but it's light and flies great. But, DO NOT FLY IN RAIN or in high humidity/fog, it will damage the drone. Follow the laws and regulations, get a license from FAA, and fly responsibly, and you will have A LOT OF FUN!!Continue. The drone is very responsive, but you can control it. The smart controller is a "must buy", it operates with the drone better than a standard controller, it has stronger signal through the wireless connection (dual band), and makes flights more enjoyable. Also, with the smart controller (and with the correct settings) you can secure your privacy better, because China is WATCHING, remember it! If you operate with a standard controller, you will have to install all the drone's applications into your phone, and the data will be stored on Chinese servers (controlled by Communist Party in accordance to laws of China), which may jeopardize your privacy and even identity ("identity theft risk"). By using a smart controller, you can avoid these risks. Also, these smart controllers have very nice bright screen (you can buy a screen protector apart, there are good ones on Amazon).Joysticks come together with a smart controller, they are hidden under antennas.Be careful flying in darkness, the drone's camera is great for a day-time flights, but doesn't have night vision mode (but you can buy a night or thermal vision camera apart and install it if you're a legal permanent resident being in the United States). This drone has phenomenal capabilities, and can be used for filming, for security/LE measures, and just for fun!Don't get surprised when you will start enjoying these flights even more than you expected! The Chinese engineers did a great job making this model, and now (finally!) healthy capitalist relations between our countries help everybody to be happy, as it should be! I absolutely recommend this drone to buy, it is as seductive as MAGA as soon as you try it! Have fun!

Amazing
My very first impression after unboxing the Mavic 2 was like, wow. Everything about it looks and feels well engineered and built to last. I was completely blown away watching it hover for the first time. It just hung there motionless a couple feet off the ground like it was hanging from wires. Then I climbed it to 100 feet and performed some maneuvers to get a feel for the controls. The flight was unbelievably smooth and the controls so precise. Then after about 15 minutes I pressed "home" and watched the magic happen. It flew itself right back to the landing pad and performed a precision hands-off landing all by itself. Experienced drone pilots are probably thinking so what. But from the perspective of a guy who's last drone was a wi-fi controlled POS, the Mavic 2 seems like something straight out of NASA. The technology in this little drone and smart controller is truly amazing. The zoom camera takes excellent pics and video too. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment and learning all the features. I highly recommend the Fly More kit too, even though the case it comes with is pretty useless. The only way to really protect this machine and gear is to invest in a hard case. After comparing many styles and price ranges I settled on the Lykus Titan M120 and couldn't be happier.

Don’t buy it with smart controller
I have had this drone for 1 year now. The drone is cool and portable, now questions. But there is few problems why I would give it 4 stars. First I can’t get it to shoot a sharp images in 1080. Always after getting home and watching images I notice some noise. I have had played with setting and seems like was able to bring it to minimum but still not satisfied with the result. Second problem is the smart controller, I hate it. There is some pluses of having smart controller, one of them is faster set up when you need to take off, and don’t have to deal with additional cables and sharing phone or tablet, but audio quality recording on smart controller is horrible, seems like processor does not handle app running very well, and so I happened to me that app would crash a couple of times. Also when staring the screen recorder processors seems to get overloaded and then video delay increase which could cause a drone crash. And price for the smart controller. I recommend everyone just get regular controller and iPad mini for same money but also having a tablet for other use other then monitor for DJI app.So Smart controller is a big NO!!

Very Easy to Fly and Use, but Maybe Pro Instead
The Mavic 2 Zoom has been very easy to use and overall takes good photos and video. The dedicated smart controller is not cheap, but does have considerable advantages over using your own smartphone. Its screen is very bright, for example, and text messages and notifications don't interfere with flying. It was a really tough decision between this and the Pro. The Pro being limited to 28mm (35mm-camera equivalent of 28mm) is an unfortunate limitation, but the Pro's one-inch sensor really does work a lot better in low-light situations. I like to photograph sunsets, rising above trees, power lines, etc. The Zoom does a good job with that, but sunsets are low-light situations! The sunsets themselves come out just great, but the much-darker ground features photographed with the sunsets come out considerably less well than I'd like. I suspect that the Pro would do a far better job at that particular aspect of that photographic assignment. All in all, in 20-20 hindsight, I probably would have preferred the Pro, but it's still a tough choice. Allegedly the Pro does have a second magnification level available, although I gather that the image quality is not as good.
