Strong bond! Works well for pink insulation board.
I needed to bond layers of that "Pink Panther" extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation foam board for a craft project. There are few good adhesives to use on this. Many solvent-based glues will dissolve it. Polystyrene is very non-polar (it loves organic solvents but repels water) which also makes water-based glues problematic for bonding sheets together. As a side note, you can effectively use water-based glues on the expanded polystyrene (EPS) type of foam, commonly called Styrofoam. EPS is the white white foam used for packaging, insulation, little foam airplanes, Styrofoam coolers, etc. Water-based glues can work on EPS because EPS is so porous that the water molecules can diffuse through it even though the polystyrene repels it. Not so with the pink XPS foamboard. If you try to bond two layers of XPS with wood glue, you'll find it never cures because the water molecules cannot diffuse through it in any reasonable amount of time.So 3M 78 to the rescue. 3M says this product is for the EPS type of foam, so I wasn't sure of its performance on XPS foam. I followed the directions, letting the adhesive dry on both surfaces for 3-5 minutes where it didn't look wet anymore, and then I put the two foam boards together. They bonded instantly (you only get one chance so get it right!) and then I put some weight on them and let them sit for a few hours. Like water-based glues, this spray adhesive cures by evaporation. However, the solvent molecules are not repelled by the polystyrene so they are able to diffuse out. I give it plenty of time to be sure.It worked well for me, no problems. Do use plenty of ventilation when using this product (take it seriously).

Great for cosplay using polystyrene insulation board
I used this on the pink panther polystyrene insulation board while i was making a costume and it worked perfectly! I didn’t want to spend the money originally because i like to budget but couldn’t find anything else so i caved. It was worth it. This product worked fantastic!

Perfect for Foamboard Insulation
This will work for Pink Foam-board NGX and similar polystyrene insulation. I've tested it to wood, steel, aluminum and like foam. All bonded very well. I've tugged -hard- on it and it does not come apart. I'm sure I could get it apart if I worked at it with a pry bar or putty knife. But this bonded very well.I let it get a little tacky. Only waited a couple of minutes. In an hour it was pretty firm. 6 hours later it seemed mostly cured. The next day it was rock solid. It does -NOT- eat polystyrene like 3M #90 (Green can) does. Do if you want a spray adhesive (from a can) for foam insulation, this is it. It is a bit expensive. So if you are doing a large area, you may want to find something in a gallon can than can be used with something like a paint sprayer. But for smaller jobs, this size product is fine.

Awsome to glue hard styrofaom & EPS together. stong bond
Using this to glue the green EPS foam from Lowes together. same as the Dow or HD foam board. Strong bond and it doesnt eat up the foam like any other spray adhesive- 77 or 90 etc..Also glued reflective foil on to the foam to use in the attic. Excellent spray pattern kind of like a 3 inch wide web weave.Better read the safety sheet and follow it, its got some nasty fumes

Works great holds great . GREAT PRODUCT

Works Great!
Does not hurt the foam board and is very sticky. Get it right the first time as you will between zero and a few seconds to make adjustments. That's OK because how well it sticks to foam board and pretty much anything else is what matters. Great spray pattern by the way.

excellent
if it wasn't so expensive i would have given 5 stars, that said i am hard to impress but was happy with the results. I had to use this outside in the bitter cold to glue a flexible trailer belly pan on. its like a plastic canvass material attaching it to fan fold insulation laying on my back under my trailer. Stuff shoots pretty far which was very helpful. my gloved hands got stuck to the can and one of the nossels kept coming off and leaked a bit, also i only ordered 2 cans for my 8x26 trailer and ran out. im ordering another can and recommend it.
