Has anyone found other products you can attach this to besides replacement cans?

Looks like a great product but not going to pay $15 for replacement chemical canned air and if the store bought canned air is toxic too, passing on this. Yeah, imagine your cat starts to smell this thing and gets a blast right in the eye...$500+ vet bill on the way.

Will the motion sensor work in a dark room? We need something to keep our cat from scratching the closet doors at night.

Can this product be used outside?

I used this product indoors and outdoors.  Outdoors we used it to keep our supervised cat from getting into our rose bush.  Yes, it didn't work as long outdoors as it did indoors (it's not intended for outdoor use), but once the cat associated the site of the can with the hissing noise, the non-functional can just sitting by the rose bush was enough to keep the cat away for quite awhile.  As long as our cat was getting imprinted with the hiss/can connection indoors, just the can alone was enough, and long after neither can was functioning.

Additionally, to help with the imprinting, I wrapped our cans in alternating strips of orange and black electrician's tape to take advantage of natural aposematism (colors signaling danger to would be predators) in animals.
