Q: If I have a hard top what all extra will I need to order to make this properly fit? I know the tailgate bar but what else?

You will need the tailgate bar and door surrounds which will can be pricey. A better option is the newer CRES2 HD version which requires no additional parts and it works with a soft top or hard top. The part number is 581135 for a four door JK.

it was plug and play on my 09 Rag Top being that you have a hardtop you need the tailgate bar that comes with the Rag Top best to install for the 1st time while hot outside

I am not sure, mine arrived damaged, therefore I returned it and never bother to purchase another one.

Q: Can you put the soft top on with this installed for unexpected rain showers?

I got this because I believe I read in one of the reviews someone did keep their soft top on with it. I tried it and it won't go around the soft top when it's folded down and I tried to stretch it and ended up ripping it. I need it to be secure because I have dogs I don't want falling out. If you don't care about stuff like that you can just snuggly put it around your softop and proceed and it'll be fine.
