Strong
I have puppy’s and dogs come to my house all the time due to my family having animals and this helps them keep in the porch.I have also kept the skunks of my porch with this product.Easy to install and it works really well with the lock for the fabric.I have have bought them for multiple places for my house and would highly recommend this for kids dogs or other critters that you may not want in your house like my place.

Really nice permanent option
Awesome gates if you don't mind them being mounted 24/7. Ours are even mounted in our porch and are doing fine outdoors.

Good alternative
Worked extremely well while my daughter was starting to explore, and wanted to keep her in or out of a specific area

Durable, high quality gate, but won't stand up to a large dog.
I use this gate to keep my 80lb black lab in a certain room when I'm not home. Lucky for me, he isn't very persistent and has respected the gate enough to not tear it down. At one point, he did chew on it for a while, but it actually held up and didn't tear.Installation is pretty straightforward, but I don't like that one side of the bracket can be screwed into a stud, but the other one has to then go into a drywall anchor. Just make sure the side on the stud is on the OUTSIDE of the gate, that will lessen the chance of it being ripped out of the wall.I saw some other concerns about the retraction mechanism too. So far, after daily use for a few months, it rewinds just as well as the first time. Zero complaints.

Minimalist look, functional although not for big strong dogs
We installed this gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop our 70lb dog from going upstairs. It works for this purpose, mostly because our dog knows she’s not supposed to and this gate is a reminder of that. Because this gate is made with flexible fabric and is on a spring retraction system, it has a lot of give. If the lock is not on, our dog putting her front legs on the gate is enough pressure to lower the gate to the point that she could easily get over. If we lock the gate and she puts her weight on it, we worry that it would pull so much on the handrails which the hooks were secured to that the rails could break. So we typically don’t lock it and instead just trained our dog not to jump on it (still working on). That said, we like the minimalist look of the gate, and the fact that when we don’t use it when the dog is not around, it can retract back into the pole and does not take up any physical space. It does the job of keeping our dog off the stairs. If I had to choose again I’d still get this gate over other regular metal gates. But be aware if you have big dogs that like to jump, this won’t stop them.

I expected it to be better
I got this gate to keep the dog out of the kitchen but it never really worked. The dog would go under it and it didn't lock easily. It was fairly easy to instal and it looked nice, but I was expecting more from this product.

Works great as dog gate
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this to contain my dog to the hard wood floor during the muddy spring months and it has been a life saver! Quick to set up and covers a wide opening. I have used it with little children and I wouldn’t trust it at the top of stairs. It holds up but I’m not sure how much pulling it could withhold before bending. The two sets of hooks is great for our set up because we can place the gate across the living room and kitchen or across the hallway. The set up was easy and the adjustable height for the base piece was a must to avoid the floorboard. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but not the worst! So convenient and worth it.

This gate held up to a bear
A bear got onto our deck, when this gate was installed and closed. When the bear ran, it first crashed into the gate (which held, and looked shockingly cartoonish when it brought the bear to a halt), and then slithered over the gate with its full weight on top of the mesh. The gate is still in wonderful shape. The top is slightly saggier than before it came into contact with a fully grown bear, but it’s very secure and still opens and closes easily.
