what are the dimensions of the inside compartment?

The compartment that you see when you first open the box is 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 3/4". The hidden inside compartment is 4 1/2" x 2" x 1".

I can't find the key in the hidden compartment. I followed the directions and can't find the key in the key compartment.

Mine also has a spare key in the main compartment, with the opening instructions. If you can turn the lock without the key, you may find a key.

Yes there is a key located in a secret compartment. The box comes with instructions on how to access the key and keyhole.
