Only used so far on 6 ga wire. But works well
Easy to use for what I have used it for…maybe 8 6 gage cable ends. Worked well. No complaints and fits in drawer of a std garage toolbox

Nice tool for the cost conscious
As a DIYer this tool is perfect for the occasional need to build a proper cable. Unit is easy to use, and the die are very well crafted. Would I use it in production? Crimps are decently well formed so I probably would. :)

Professional quality copper lug crimping tool
What's there to say other than this tool is very well made, has dies in the crimping end that are easily rotated for at least 8 different sized "barrels" to be crimped and is simplistic to use. It also makes the best mechanical crimps on quality copper lugs that I've ever used in my more than 30 years as an automotive professional. Even though I still solder the wire to the copper lugs and use marine grade shrink tubing over the splice to prevent any contaminant intrusions this tool makes such strong crimps that soldering the splice isn't necessary, assuming the item that's being crimped to wire is itself sturdy/high quality. IF you do a lot of wiring work like I do these are well worth the price! I'm limited to how much & when I can physically function (disabled vet) and much of what I do today revolves around building "resto-mods" (installing modern engines/transmissions along with all wiring, computers/modules etc into older vehicles) for customers of a friend who owns a well regarded shop as I had to sell my shop just over 7 years ago due to my physical issues. Hard to recommend anything any better than I recommend these crimpers! The only thing I wish is that there was ONE set of crimpers available that had different dies to be able to crimp every kind of terminal end found in modern vehicles as I must have at least a half dozen different crimping tools for different kinds of terminal ends, wire gauges etc.

Does the job
Good quality tool at an excellent price. Used it for battery lugs on 4 AWG wire and it made a nice strong connection.

Pinches the connectors leaving an edge.
I wish I'd known this before purchasing the tool: This is a cheap tool, compared to the professional crimpers that cost 5-10 times more. It "does" crimp, but because this tool works like pliers, it applies pressure unevenly and at an angle (it presses the side closest to the jaws earlier). The result: in EVERY crimp I did, the tool deformed the connector, creating an edge or protrusion on the side furthest away from the tool. As you move along the length of connector crimping it, the edge becomes a sharp blade that can rip the heat shrink insulation and leave metal exposed that can cause a short. Once the tool makes this edge, rotating the cable to the opposite direction doesn't get rid of it. I had to resort to use a rotary tool with a cutting disk to remove the excess "blade", reshape the connector and remove any other edges. I've crimped several AWG 4 and AWG 2 connectors for my car (did the Big 3 cable upgrade and also added a cable + fuse box for audio and other accessories). I had to rework EVERY connector with the rotary tool. I lost a lot of time and had to work in the engine bay and the interior of my car, resulting in more lost time cleaning the shavings. The company provided videos cleverly edit the video to hide the edge that the tool makes! Probably the pneumatic tools that have a "C" or "U" shape will perform better than this.

Worked great on the splices and lugs that I used. When doing more than one crimp, remember to do the next crimp on the opposite side. That'll stop the lug from curving like a banana. File off the fins, that are left on the lug, for a professional looking job.
