When the stand is fully extended the microphone (Shure 58) is pointing at my forehead. So I'm pretty sure with a tube style recording condenser mic, you'd be fine. It's a well made stand and as good as anything you'd buy at the massive guitar store. **Q: Why is this described as having a "boom arm"? I see no boom arm in the pics. (A boom arm connects on a pivot and goes outward at an adjustable angle.)** A: That is a very good question.
