Does it have low battery indictor?

Yes. When you first turn it on, it is located in the top right corner. Only shows up when the battery is actually low. Otherwise it is not present.

Is the backlight auto off? On my current meter the light goes off too soon.

Haven't noticed anything like that. Could be be battery. Or have you dropped it?

what does it mean it cant check ac current

Given the other features listed I would say that means it will not check the amperage of an AC current. It will measure the voltage.
