Great little lunchbox!
This is a really nice lunchbox. It is well portioned for the entree, and two sides. The plastic is sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. There aren’t any latches, but the parts all stack and there is an elastic band to wrap around the whole kit that has worked for me to keep everything together in my carrier. The added plastic utensils are a great addition and come in handy. I’ve been using this to meal prep lunches for work and it has helped me save money and loose a little weight by helping me not buy lunch everyday and have proper meal portions. This is an easy recommendation from me. I say buy it, if you are on the fence.

A sleek, expertly designed lunch box that allows you to bring a whole meal!
On instagram, there are always a bunch of photos of food in bento boxes, and I got really jealous of the way people could put such a variety of foods in their bento boxes. Every Monday and Wednesday I bring a lunch box to school, and inside the lunchbox, I have some flimsy (probably harmful to my health) tuperware full of the food I brought for lunch. And if I wanted to bring chips, which I haven't been doing lately because I don't like to waste bags, I would have to bring it inside a bag. So I thought it'd be cool if I could find a cool bento box to bring my food in. And through Amazon, my favorite site for shopping, I found the Bentgo lunchbox! The reviews were extremely favorable towards the box, and it makes a lot of sense. The Bentgo lunch box has a very sleek design, which I love—the designer really thought out each aspect of the lunchbox. It's designed in a way that allows you to not only bring a main dish but also two sides or even a side and some dip. This is possible because the lunchbox is made out of two containers: one larger bottom container and one smaller container with a divider. The two containers are held together by a strap (what a great idea). This is great because it saves you from bringing too many separate containers and/or baggies. The fabulous design also allows me to bring reusable utensils (that were included in the package), so I would stop wasting plastic utensils from my school—what another great idea. I've only used the Bentgo lunchbox twice so far, but I'm already really glad I got it. My first lunch consisted of ramen noodles (and, admittedly, my second lunch consisted of ramen noodles) in the big bottom container and hummus and chips in the top container. Usually, before the Bentgo box, I would just bring ramen noodles to school, but because of the awesome divider in the top container, I was able to bring a snack in the top. All the exciting possibilities of stuff that I can bring in the top container along with my main meal in the bottom container is awesome! The idea of bringing fruits, vegetables, or chips in the top without having to baggie it up is awesome. The only thing is that because the top is smaller I wasn't able to bring as many tortilla chips as I wanted to, but it does hold a lot of dip. Now, as I said above, I had brought ramen noodles to school. I filled up the Bentgo with water at school, and then I microwaved it there. From that point, I closed everything up and brought it to a different building on my campus. When I opened up everything, there was absolutely no leaks. This is great because it shows how tight everything is sealed. The nylon strap really does a great job. It's obvious to see that each aspect of the Bentgo box was well designed. Really, I see myself using the Bentgo box a lot in my next two years as a college student. I love how the box is BPA free and how sturdy the box is, and I love how I won't be wasting plastic baggies carrying food. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Bentgo box to my friends because this easily beats bringing food in flimsy tupperware. So if you find yourself in need of a new lunchbox like I did, I don't think you could really go wrong with the Bentgo lunch box.

Great for my everyday lunches!
I love my Bentgo! I was getting tired of using ziplock bags (too much waste) as well as glass containers (too clunky) and mismatched plastic containers (well - okay. I realize that's just fine and functional, but I wanted something *sleek*, you know?). Hunting for Bento boxes online, I decided to go for the Bentgo as my first Bento to see if the Bento lifestyle worked for me. The price point is phenomenal for the size and quality. Go ahead and do a Google search for Bento box providers and you'll see what I mean. I found that, for about this price, you could get big Bento boxes that weren't microwave or dishwasher safe, or you could get teeny Bento boxes made out of durable, food-safe plastics. Now you see why I picked the Bentgo - a decent sized Bento that is microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and freezer safe, as well as BPA-free for under $15! Wow! Now for the Bentgo's performance. I LOVE this thing. I know some have mentioned they would like the size to be a little larger, but I have no qualms here. I normally put a leftover meal (i.e. chicken and rice something or other, pasta with a thick sauce, etc) in the lower compartment, with cold fruit and veggies in the top divided portion. I have also been able to pack a sandwich in the lower compartment if I cut it diagonally and situate the pieces so that they fit. I haven't had any situations where I wish I could pack more food in the Bentgo or anything like that. That's considering my usual lunchtime appetite, so YMMV. I'm not normally one to take salads for lunch, so I can't speak to how it works for salads, and that's where I have seen most people have issues with the Bentgo. As far as the Bentgo's watertightness goes, I have not had any issues here, either - so far. For thicker sauces, such as a thicker dressing (ranch, thousand island, etc) and some pasta sauces that aren't particularly viscous such as spaghetti sauce or thicker Alfredo's and pestos should not present any problems at all, really. As long as you're not replacing your football with your Bentgo or tossing it gleefully into the air as you walk, these sauces shouldn't come loose. I wouldn't recommend packing any oil and vinegar or broth-based soups in this thing, as they recommend against it, and I can see why. The silicone barrier seals well enough, but not completely, and the same goes for the upper lid. I have packed saucy dishes and ranch dressing in my Bentgo and have had no problems at all as long as I keep it upright. The strap also works well and fulfills its duties admirably: it appears to be strong, durable, and does it's job keeping the two compartments fitted together well. My only nit-picky item would be that the silicone barrier does stain, but it washes clean completely with just the stain left behind. This is purely cosmetic, and not anything I am concerned with at all, but it's worth mentioning. A simple bleach followed with a boil may take care of this issue, but I haven't tried that yet. Also, the utensils do pop out occasionally, but not always (for me). If they do pop out, I have found they do still keep the utensils in place during transit, they just aren't stuck in there. The Bentgo delivered on everything I was looking for in a Bento: size, ease, and durable plasticity. I am now happily enjoying the Bento lifestyle, thanks to the Bentgo!

Good lunchbox
It is a a good lunch box and I appreciate the convenience. Just a warning, it says that it is dishwasher safe but only top shelf and do not use the heat dry cycle. Glad I read the pamphlet that came with it before washing it. I would recommend just hand washing it to avoid melting it.

Good, just not for forever.
Really good, spacious enough but the band it comes with is a requirement. I expected the compartments to snap together comfortably rather than needing a band to keep it together. It's good, as expected, but I can foresee it coming apart in the future and causing a big mess. TDLR; the band goes around the bento box to keep everything in place. without it, you're screwed as the compartments don't snap and lock together.

Perfect Lunch Solution
I couldn't be happier with my Bentgo products. I bought my first one because my oldest child (15) is really into Japanese Bento lunches. Compared to other Bento boxes this one was very reasonably priced. So well priced in fact that I frankly worried about the comparative quality, size and food safety features when ordering. The day it arrived I ordered two more, it's that nice! This Bento is amply sized for older children or adults wanting portion controlled meals, and easily accommodates silicone baking cups for added compartment space if desired (others we looked at are too shallow). Each of the two compartments seals very nicely with the lids staying put even before the elastic band is put in place. It is easy and quick to assemble once lunch is over and hasn't leaked at all though it's not technically "leak proof". The included utensils are nicely sized and seat easily between the compartments. Our only disappointment is that the utensils don't include mini chopsticks that we've added separately (still fitting nicely alongside the utensils without interfering with closure). The product is BPA free. It's microwave and dishwasher safe (minus the middle lid, which hand washes quickly and easily), and the best unadvertised feature is that the plastic does not retain food odors. I've sent my kids garlic chicken (bottom section) and sliced apples and rice in the upper section and each food tasted as it was supposed to. Even after washing there was no residual odor / flavors left behind as with some plastics. We have friends who purchased another brand at the same time for double the price. It has much smaller compartments and it must be hand washed to maintain the character designs, who has time for all that? Our Bentgo is still attractive (four fun colors to choose from presently), all the pieces still fit nicely together after many, many washes. Plus, my kids don't have to worry about biting into PB&J and having it taste like yesterday's Teriyaki. Issues our friends experienced with that other brand. If you are looking for a Bento Box, Bentgo is the way to go. You cannot beat the quality or price of this product.

Bentgo for the win
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Oh my gosh, I LOVE this bento box so much !! I recently “returned to office” (wink wink, lol) and wanted to have a good setup to make bfast/lunch prep easy. I ordered this the day before RTO and it has exceeded my wildest expectations. Ok, no wild expectations but you catch my drift, it’s just amazing. I can fit my meals in a tight, neat little package and have plenty of room for the emergency just in case Alani, my bfast mix-ins and lunch dressing or other condiments, plus snacks ! Ok this sounds like it’s turning into a review of my lunch box (which I also ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!). Utensils stack beautifully in the middle. Listen, one thing I don’t have to worry about is sustenance at work because this bad boy lets me perfectly fit everything I need with no added weight or bulk. It doesn’t seal so you can’t put anything liquidy, but that hasn’t been a problem. I know its limitations and I respect them. I happened upon this without even realizing what a game changer it would be. BEST $17 EVER SPENT 🥳
