Good grip and blades. Blades lock in place.
I like it. Had one before and lost it. This one has a good aluminum grip. Blades pull/push out without binding. Very sharp. Be aware that this is just high carbon steel and it will rust. Best value that I have seen so far.

A lot of up and down free play in blades when locked open.
I love flexcut knives and gouges and wanted something to take with me into the bush, to test timber im finding, and a bit of general carving on the run, thought this would be perfect. It is handy, BUT, dont expect this to lock into place crisply like your Spyderco or Benchmade. The poorly designed lock on this leaves all the blades with a big amount of up and down free play when in the open locked position. Measured from the tip of the blades we are talking 3-4mm movement which is a lot imo,(I just measured it) way too much for a knife this expensive and for a wood carving knife, its a very sloppy and poor locking design from Flexcut, which is unusual for them from my experience. You dont want your blades moving around up and down while carving. There is zero side to side play and has an adjustable torque bolt to tighten it if it becomes loose, so at least thats a nice upgrade over the last model. I own thousands of dollars worth of Flexcut gear, its my favourite carving gear, and ive come to expect pretty high quality as far as non custom knives and chisels go. The quality of build of this knife is pretty good, feels as good in the hand as a carving jack can with this many blades, it has nicely machined alloy scales, nice quality sheath too, blades are all high quality and the usual flexcut sharp, but the play in the blades will be a deal breaker for many. Ive read of others with the same issue so I dont think its isolated. The lock seems more of a safety feature than to lock the blade in place. Flexcut have disappointed me here. I live over the other side of the world to flexcut, its probably not worth me sending it back as they will probably tell me its within spec and I won't have the knife for a year going by a few reports ive read. Hope my review helped you, happy Carvin and cheers.
