Am I the only person trying to get this so I have literally the most inconvenient, most time consuming way to answer people asking me what time it is?

Oh, this was a revenge gift for my bother in law. Anytime anyone asks the time he always makes a big deal about where the sun is. Ok smartass, now you get to carry a sundial around so we can have the most accurate sun “telling” around.

We ordered two at separate times and both of ours are accurate.

3 inch, is that the size of the case or the compass?

I gifted it, so I don't have it to measure. I would say the compass itself, which is beautiful. Be careful, though, to only order from Neovivid. I ordered from another vendor as well (ordered from both) and the other vendor sent me a cheap knock-off that was only about 2" across and not nearly as well made or detailed.

How long is the chain?

The Cain is a heavy chain made of solid brass and is approx 12 inches long
