Excellent Quality!
It really surprises me to see people saying the cards are poor quality. I don't know if this is a new version (which gale force has done before with their spell cards) but these cards are amazing quality. They aren't the same laminated material as the spell cards the company makes, but they are much higher quality than that of a deck of playing cards or TCG games like Magic. I was worried I was going to need to sleeve them, but these are built to last. The art is also great. I would think that maybe some muted colors could have been used, but the B&W scheme works fine too.

Actual intent, perfect, bonus game, confusing
For what these are, a fancy version of a playing card deck designed specifically for use with the 5e Curse of Strahd adventure, they are designed ideally. Sure, they could look cooler, but that's They are well deisgned, high quality cards, that are perfect for that purpose. As for the game that you get rules for with the deck, "Prophet's Gambit" it feels like a odd sort of 5 card poker. You're trying to make the best hand out of 5 cards (or four if the shared card is killed). How you get the best hand is governed by a large amount of variables, making it a bit more interesting than straight up poker, but also really confusing. I've been trying to find an example of gameplay, because these rules are murkey at best, but so far nothing.

Awesomely thematic deck of cards for any ttrpg.
The cards are black and white, of a quality that will draw no complaints. The art is grim and/or gothic. They can be used as regular playing cards and instructions for a game specifically using these cards is included. If you fish around on the internet, there's a good chart for converting cards drawn into numbers as a dice replacement. Rather than roll for a random encounter tonight, why not have your poor players draw their own fate during their watch?

Use this Tarokka Deck to predict your PCs future...
These are good quality cards meant to complement the Curse of Strahd: A Dungeons & Dragons Sourcebook (D&D Supplement) . Curse of Strahd uses the cards to simulate at Tarot Card reading and to set some of the adventure parameters. While this can be done using a normal set of playing cards, the Tarokka Deck, adds an extra level immersion to you D&D game. The art is black and white. It is fantastic. I have seen at least one review that complain about it, but it reminds me of the classic black and white vampire flicks, like Nosferatu. Get these and predict Strahds defeat in style (or maybe a tpk). But it's all in the cards!

I love the artwork and the quality of the cards
I love the artwork and the quality of the cards, it is not necessary to tear the top of the box as some have implied, cut the tape holding it closed with a knife. Would be awesome if they had a color version but I suppose the black and white firs the atmosphere. Can't wait to use them!

Forays into the Mists will never be the same.
I'm currently running two Curse of Strahd campaigns and playing in one online. So far, one party has done. Tarokka reading, but with a standard playing card deck. Now that I have this deck, the second group will have a wonderfully dark visual aid for their experience. I also use Tarokka effects put together by the folks at Sly Flourish and a few Redditors. This pack of 54 black-and-white playing cards will see a lot of use at my tables, from random battle effects to divinations by the party sorcerer. If you plan to run Curse of Strahd, if you have a party with a character interested in divination magic, or you would like a horror-themed visual aid for your playing card mechanics, this deck is an inexpensive and versatile add-on that is absolutely worth it.

Perfect addition to Strahd
The cards are essential to keep the game immersive and fun for the players. Make it spooky and mystical.

Good Quality, But Lacks Proper Presentation
I love this deck, in theory. Functionally, you don't need it - you can use a regular deck of cards to perform the role of the Tarokka deck. But you buy this deck to add to the atmosphere of a very atmospheric campaign, and having cards designed for this world adds to that for sure. The problem in my opinion is that while the quality of the cards is good, it makes them look like a brand new deck of modern cards. They are clean and glossy with crisp sharp images. This does NOT feel atmospheric to me. For a product that exists strictly as a tarot card approximation for an old psychic gypsy woman, they don't feel old or magical or unique. I would have much preferred if they had gone the direction of the Bicycle Distressed Expert Back Playing Cards and printed them to at least LOOK old, even if they are actually in great, brand new condition. It would add significantly to the flavor of the presentation, which is really the only thing you are looking for when buying the deck in the first place. Instead, I'm going to spend a few days sanding the finish from the cards, doing the coffee/tea staining thing, and leaving them out in the sun to try to fade and wear them down a bit before I break them out for my players. I also would have liked them to be printed on a larger format card, but I don't hold that against them for purposes of review.

Playing Dungeons and Dragons Board Game: Tarokka Cover
Tarokka Cover are what you expect them to be... Tarokka.. Very good quality, standard sized deck with 54 cards to accompany the adventure Curse of Strahd. You may also play with them as a stand alone game that is described in the manual included in the box

A perfect addition for any trip to Barovia 😈
This is definitely a good option for any dm running strahd to pick up. I can’t wait until I run a strahd campaign and I can show this to my players. Outside of running strahd, I’m currently working on making a deck of many things homebrew, Using this as a physical prop! Very cool art too!
