CHEAP
DO NOT BUY This item is garbage. Cheap materials. One pull up done and the bar is already bent. Don’t waste your money on this

Not one size fits all
Measure your door before buying

Terrible. Bar bent in two after few exercises.
The bar is not fit for purpose at all. Made of cheap metals so the bar bends in the middle after a few uses. The bar is about to snap, that’s how much it’s bent and I only bought it 5 days ago.

I am a big fan of these pull up bars, put them in a doorway you regularly walk through and just hang it feels so good on your back, great for pull ups too ;) I am not comfortable with the big bulky bars that hang off a doorframe as I get nervous they will slip off, these are safe and secure and take up very little space.

This pull up bar has been extremely reliable for me over the last 4 months or so. It is bigger than most door way bars, so if you have wide doorways like I do, then it will still fit just fine. Make sure to double check the maximum widths before you purchase. I did find it a bit of a hassle to put together initially, but once I watched a YouTube tutorial briefly, everything went together fairly well. I found the instructions a bit hard to decipher. The tolerances on the pieces connecting are loose, so nothing will be exactly in line and you can push everything into place easily. The tools provided were a bit cheap, but functioned for what they needed to, which is to screw in the bolts and tighten it all together. Once it is built, the bar can easily be hooked onto the doorway, and taken off in a few seconds so the door can close fully. The bar itself is very high quality, the metal is strong and heavy, and the foam grips seem like they would take a while to wear down. I never once felt insecure when using the bar, although I would not want to swing on it. It works well for pull ups, chin ups, neutral pull ups. Since the bar is so long there are a variety of hand positions you can use. So wide or close grip pull ups are possible. It works for push ups on the ground if you need it to, and again felt very sturdy under my weight. According to the manual, the max weight supported is 130kg, although at 90KG once of my friends was causing it to creak quite a bit. So if you weigh more than 100KG I would be extremely careful. The bar does leave black marks on the wall above the doorway, and also on the sides wherever it touches the frame. They seem to clean off, but if you use it for a long period of time, it may be worth putting something thin in-between the doorway and black foam/rubber parts of the bar. I wouldn't advise to use this in rental properties or weak/old door frames, and if you are, be very careful. The bar can be dismantled, so if you want to use it for travel between places, it is possible. However there are probably smaller or cheaper ones that would be better to use for this purpose. Overall the bar is very secure and safe, and provides a lot of use for workouts. For £35 it was well worth it.

•• Comparable Products I've Used •• I used to have a j/fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar , which is one of Amazon's best sellers, and it worked great for years. It stuck really well, but it had a couple of issues. First, it doesn't have a variety of grip locations; the black handhold is where the black handhold is. It's a one size-fits all approach. Secondly, it fit TIGHTLY against the mounting frame. It has rubber caps on either side to prevent damage (in theory). In my first apartment, it left massive black circles that were extremely hard to clean off. I scrubbed those suckers forever, and luckily my landlord let it slide. Then, in the basement suite I moved to, it actually crunched into the wall. I still used it like that, knowing that one day I'd have to repair the damage. A few years later, I moved again, and I was determined to bring it with me. This time, the rubber cap fell out because the adhesive affixing it to the bar had finally worn away. I lost it in the move. Finally, I decided, it was time for something a little less... brutal. •• What I Like •• I really love the ProSource. It handles my weight effortlessly (145lbs) and has a variety of gripping points. I particularly enjoy the wide U-grips for deep, upper pec activation. The point is, there's a grip for anything. I even toss a sheet over it to grip for vertical rows. It's exceptionally diverse. The instructions are mildly unintuitive, but they're easy to figure out. Basically, I recommend looking at the instructions and just deciding on the order that makes sense. As long as you're not snapping the wrong pieces together, you'll get it done without issue. It took me about 5-10 minutes to put together. No biggy. It sits on my new door frame like a champ. •• What I Dislike •• As other reviewers have stated, the heads of the screws that sit on top of your door frame are slightly pushed out. This means they'll press into the wall when you're hanging your weight. That is a silly design flaw indeed, but it's SUPER EASY to FIX. All you have to do is place something thick enough behind the screws. I'll show you what I mean in the pictures at the bottom of the review. I literally took the box the ProSource came in, sliced it up into little squares, and placed them behind the screws. I didn't have to purchase any additional stuff to do it... no tape, no nothing, and again, it took me around 2 minutes to concoct. Don't let that stop you from buying this thing. If you have a standard door frame it'll fit on, you're going to be very happy with it. •• Conclusion •• If I had to buy it again, I would. I don't see any true cons with this thing. The build quality is great and easily rivals the J/Fit I had previously. Setting it up and installing it is easy. And if you take 2 minutes to cut up some cardboard, you won't have screw-head-holes above your beautiful door frame. If you want more protection, pad the screws with some fat tape before placing the cardboard (or whatever). You could even use socks or small towels instead of cardboard. Happy working out, broseph or brodette. 05/08/2017 Update: Been using it for a few months now. Still thrilled. The cardboard hasn't shifted one bit. 01/05/2018 Update: We're officially in the new year! Cardboard hasn't shifted. I have zero complaints. 08/12/2019 Update: No changes. No complaints. One addition! I recently hung rings over the bar. It holds perfectly solid. Been using them for a few months now. I still love and appreciate the versatility of this door-bar. Rings are "Femor gym rings" from Amazon. I've also reviewed them.
