Since you are taking these to the beach, you could pack the 'empty' in your beach bag, then fill them up with sand at the beach, then empty them before you leave again. I read other comments where people had issues with the sand coming out so I used a large garbage bag inside of it and then filled the garbage bag, while inside, with sand. Solved that problem. I was worried it wouldn’t be strong enough to hold my tent down because we have high winds where I live. I worried for nothing. The tent never moved an inch. Enjoy.
