Handsome oven.
This is a great little oven. Toasts and performs like any other I've had. Looks great on my counter. I have another DASH item that I love. THE ONLY COMPLAINT (so far)...the writing on the front where the knobs and controls are is pretty IMPOSSIBLE to see. Should've made it darker. Ink is too light on a bright surface.

Toasts equally on both sides, no problem reading the letters and numbers at all
Product came exactly as pictured. My prerequisite was that it would toast both sides of the bread slices equally at the same time. I was surprised to see that on the face of the toaster, lower insertion slot was marked as toast and bagel. Actually, to obtain equal toasting on both of sides of the slices, the rack needs to be placed in the upper insertion slot to obtain equal distances from top and bottom burners - thus to have both sides be toasted equally at the same time. There is no problem with reading the lettering. They are big and visible enough. People reported it as a problem most likely have problem with the available light in their kitchen. I checked both in day and night time and didn't have any problem at all.

Compact toaster oven
Hard to believe i've never owned a toaster oven (never enough counter space). First impressions: -- cute but small (it's what i wanted, but keep that in mind) -- had to move rack up to "broil" to get an even toast (using as toaster most days) -- says it fits 4 pieces of bread (seems exaggerated, but i toasted 3 slices of ciabatta, fit with room to spare) -- racks and crumb tray slide out easily -- big negative, knocking of a star - dial markings hard to see; both stainless panel and numbers are reflective, tons of glare (may depend on lighting, i have bright can lights). Will update if i run into issues. Looking forward to using, and not having to heat up a big oven!

Toasts good
I bought this toaster oven to toast bread. The temperature setting for toast is 450 degrees. Don't try to put the pointer on the word "Toast" because the dial won't go past 450. It does the job quickly; however, as with older toaster ovens, turn the timer knob past the 5 or 10 minute mark before going back to the desired shade of toast. Select a place almost to the darkest shade indicator to get a nice golden color. The owner's manual is misleading about the crumb tray. It implies by the picture in the manual that it is separate in the box like the baking tray and baking pan, and that the consumer puts it in the toaster oven when setting it up to use. That is why a reviewer said their oven did not come with a crumb tray. The crumb tray on my toaster oven apparently was not the last part installed at the factory. There was no way to pull out the crumb tray with your hands. My husband had to use a screwdriver to loosen it on the inside of the oven, then use pliers to pull it out from the front of the toaster oven.

It's okay
The cooking tray included turned black almost immediately. I had to soak it 3 times 2 hours each time in an oven cleaner solution and then scrub it vigorously to get any of the black off. Even using a cleanser like Comet and a 3M pad had no effect at all. I'd have covered it with aluminum foil, but the instructions say not to. Also, the dial indicators are nearly impossible to read. I have to get my phone and shine the flashlight directly on it before I can even begin to read them. I have taken a Sharpie and marked time intervals and such. Other than that, it has worked just fine so far.

Great little toaster oven.
We got this to replace the one my college son wanted to take with him. It actually is the exact same one (different brand) as we had before. It is used almost every day in our house. For reheating food, toasting sandwiches, making mini pizzas (so much better than microwaving them), making garlic bread, etc. Though the garlic bread tends to toast faster than the inside warms up, it does the job with out turning on the oven and waiting for it to heat up. The thing we especially like (that isn’t on most other toaster ovens) is that it has hooks on the door, that when you open the door - it slides the rack out a little bit. It makes it easier and safer than sticking your hand (even with a pot holder) inside. We have several Dash products and they are all fantastic!

Toasty Toast!!
So... this is the first toaster oven I have ever owned... and I do not know why I haven't purchased one sooner! I cooked pizza logs, made toast, and even reheated leftovers in it, since purchasing it. I love the fact that I no longer have to heat up my oven for smaller food items. I find that this toaster oven is extremely convenient and is the perfect size. It does not take up too much space on the countertop. The removable crumb catcher is a handy feature. Overall this is a great product. It is very easy to operate, and clean. I am very happy with my purchase. I can not wait to use it too bake. I feel that everyone should have a Dash Toaster Oven!

guaranteed to burn your toast, every time
This was a replacement - not a good one. We wanted the same features as our old toaster oven that could also cook a piece of already thawed salmon. It’s ideal to have considering heating an actual oven takes more to run (ie reheat (time), cook, and using more energy if only needing one piece of salmon. This toaster burns toast and does not toast evenly as prescribed. It actually burns everything and has to be closely watched. This should not be the case when the temp dial setting is not high (< 300) with function on toast and the timer is low enough to do what toasting should be. If you have really tiny bread you could likely get 4 slices inside. As far as heating up pizza, that’s 2 slices max. The lettering around the dials is far too small to read. Maybe it’s the “ technology to rapidly heat up “ and “ warm in just minutes “ that’s not regulated, which in turn burns the bread. There are more crumbs outside the toaster-oven than on the tray that’s supposed to catch it. Seems the crumbs always make their way outside and don’t drop in the tray. Unfortunately, we waited too late to return this so it’s garbage now. I may donate it with a warning that it likely will not perform as expected.
