Its durability is really great and a good B camera. Perfect in rain or water.

Battery life was kind of low but I ran it on USB power and didn't have any issues over 12 hours of shooting. The app while kind of laggy was great for starting and stopping recording and to allow for manual focusing as well as changing settings based on ambient light. Used in conjunction with a LumeCube I was able to control both remotely and never had to mess with the rig.

I snorkel with this camera every day, it works well for stills. Purchased because of the form factor. Battery life with intermittent usage is great. Power on delay is negligible. I really like the lack of a touch screen as on other cameras transitioning the water surface can trigger the screen. The download software not great and wifi eats the battery, so I pop the memory card. As a consequence after 3 months of use the camera is at Sony due to flooding. I hope that story has a happy ending......(so 4 stars so far). The attached image was taken at about 20ft, is a jpg direct from the camera, not altered except for minor cropping. EDIT: Upped to 5 stars because of Sony's handling of the flooding issue.

Sony DSCRX0M2/B RX0 II 1” (1.0-Type) Sensor Ultra-Compact Camera There are plenty of reviews on this by professional reviewers. I wont really get into basic functions. If youre looking for primarily "action" camera? dont buy this camera. GoPro 11 is vastly superior because of the video stabilization , and extremely wide angle view. In addition, the GOPRO phone app is vastly superior than Sony's. This camera has VASTLY superior 1" sensor than any "action" camera with 1/1.9" or 1/2.X" sensor. There is simply no competition. Stills and video is incredibly clean and essentially "mirrorless SLR" like quality within reason. The images are as if i took it on my sony a7 III (obviously not identical but pretty darn good). Sony's RAW images are great but its internal JPEG processing is amazing. I like keeping NOISE Reduction to the "low" level -- this is a personal preference. While 4K video is limited to heat issues, both 4K and HD videos are crisp and very clean. I'm very happy with the output "as is" without post processing. The very fact that there is an external MIC input and an HDMI output (along side 1" sensor), tells you what Sony had in mind for the usage of this camera. It really really begs for rigging up a handheld ULTRA PORTABLE video "run&gun" shooting. The shell is all metal. and seals are visibly present for full immersion waterproofing. Front of camera has a replicable glass cover frame that protects the lens. If you shatter it, you could buy a new one for around 150$. This camera has an EXTREMELY useful articulating screen which lets you do selfies by flipping the screen up 180degrees. Also has a nice side benefit that it can be used for webcam on your pc. --------------- IF this isnt a great "action camera" -- then what then is this good for? 1. As hinted above, this makes for a very nice "B" camera where you are right in space. Anyone into video, this is a GREAT tiny recorder. 2. TRAVEL!! i bought this because although i love the pixel7pro, i want to have a bit more SLR-quality videos and pictures for my vacations/travels. I'm not willing to lug around my SLR/lenses -- too inconvenient! This camera is ULTRA portable and slots right between my phone VS SLR. I want to go take this to vacations such as mexico, where i have a very nice usable 24mm f/4 field of view that works in so many versatile scenes. I also have a water proof submergible camera. I'm happy that i dont need to lug around SLR and lenses. I only use my SLR for formal shoots. Things i dont like? 1. Menu system --- if you are familiar with SONYs a7 SLR's , this is basically the same except NO touch screen. ALL up/down/left/right/ENTER button based. LOTS OF button presses. What i cant stand is, on SLR there was a feature to "snap to" the MyMenu tab to get all your quick custom frequently used stuff right away -- but on RX0, even with latest software firmware , that feature doesnt exist so you have to use all the buttons to get to the "my menu" -- by that time, you might as well just not use it at all. 2. Battery life is not spectacular. Always keep a second one handy -- this obviously means u should buy a 70$ battery plus an external charger. adds to cost here. Another option is to buy a 200$ sony hand grip which has an external battery to plug into microusb port of the camera for "more power" but then youre not able to make it a waterproof camera of course. I DO NOT recommend thirdparty battery for this camrea -- too many reviews on this and they just dont last long at all even if they claim 1000maH (vs sonys 700) 3. Price tag !!! At around 900$, plus needing a backup battery, this is basically point&shoot pricing. Youre really paying for an extremely robustly made product , in a miniature format . You need to want to have a small waterproof form factor badly -- otherwise you can just buy a small point and shoot that gives you 1" sensor and zoom capability in lens etc.. There you have it. Thats my honest assessment and i hope this helps.

I purchased this camera to shoot high frame rate video. I was enticed by the ability to shoot up to 960 FPS. However, the functionality of this feature fell very short of expectations. You cannot simply start and stop recording with the device. Very confusing. Very frustrating. Even after figuring out the confusing record feature, it was extremely difficult to capture the desired motion. I'm sure this camera is great for shooting a vlog. If using for action or slow motion applications, steer clear.
