If it was counterfeit, they did an extremely good job copying the bottle and the label; and what would they have put in the bottle that would have been significantly cheaper than ATF-HP but not as good? Bottom line, I don't know how you would tell if the product you received was counterfeit. **Q: What color is good on the stick after 150,000?** A: New, out of the bottle fluid is red. If you haven't changed it in 150,000 miles I would bet it is dark brown and more viscous. Red is best. For a quick solution, with the motor off you can siphon most of the fluid out of the holding tank and replace it with this fluid.
