Excellent, well designed, well made standing desk
I got this so I could avoid all the lengthy sessions of working while seated. [Remote IT worker]. I really like it ... a lot. One caveat though, I haven't yet used it while seated - so I can't report on the ergonomics/usability in that configuration. It does move up/down easily and locks in place firmly, in its preset positions. Mine went all the way up and stayed there [so far]. The main reason I haven't tried it seated is I have it on a counter top that has some wall mounted shelving behind the monitors & this unit needs a little bit of room behind it to descend. This is not a product defect - if that hard mounted shelf wasn't there [and it won't be for long]: it would drop easily. I could still drop it by pulling the monitors all the way forward - just haven't done that yet. * Setup was a total breeze: unpack it, place & position it where you want, put stuff on it and go. * Well built, sturdy and really important to me: very stable - especially the keyboard tray, which doesn't slide in or out or bounce while in use. * Attractive. Prior to receiving it, I had the back woods version: two monitors up on tidy cat litter buckets - keyboard on stuff stacked on a chair. :-). Nice matte finish on the metal parts and the two surfaces are a really cool black sheen. * Designed for ergonomics - the top surface front cut-out gives you a nice look at the keyboard, while providing 2 neat projections for your hands/drink/mouse, etc. The keyboard tray height is maybe a tad low for me: in the top position it's ~1.5" below my elbow [I'm 5'9"]. I ended up using some of the packing material under my keyboard to build it up 1.5" so my forearms are now level while typing. In the low/seated position, it might be perfect [dunno]. * OK a little funny for some: the packing material had some of the thickest, strongest cardboard panels I've ever seen. If you had enough of the [2] large panels, you could build an interior wall that would actually be pretty strong. I like to re-purpose stuff and love this cardboard. :-) It came pretty quickly and I went cold turkey from being a slouchy programmer to a stand up guy the day I got it. Took my feet a while to get with the program, but they're getting there. I found I seem to be more alert and seem to have more energy during the day now. Took me a little while to get used to doing the real focused/intense coding while standing ... not sure why - maybe being seated is associated with hard focus for me. But, this too has come around. For those of you spending gobs of time sitting in front of a workstation all day ... consider something like this and you'll probably like it too. And this product seems the best price point for a solid offering in the line of standing desks.

Great standing desk! Purchased after seeing a coworker with one!
Very happy with my standing desk. For years, I have been sitting all day at work, 8-9 hours a day and would have back pain from the constant compression on my spine from sitting. This desk gives me the option to do either! I had looked into the Varidesk brand, but just could not bring myself to spend the money on them. I really didn't need to, this desk works great. It came fully assembled (very quickly I might add). It is big enough to fit my two 24 inch monitors. They over hang the sides just a little, but since they are large, I expected that. The only thing that could have been better is the keyboard tray size. It works, but it's a little crammed with a full sized keyboard and mouse. My wrist rest and mouse pad rest are a little crammed, and the way my desk is set up it doesn't allow me to use my mouse on my actual desk because the standing desk legs are in the way, but it works. A minor flaw for me :) It just took a little bit to get used to. But, the quality of the desk is great. It's very sturdy, even leaning on it while I'm standing sometimes. A friend of mine at work also purchased this desk. I saw her standing at it one day and decided to get one myself. She purchased hers for $223, so there may be sales on this, I got it at $243. All in all, definitely worth the money! My back is feeling better already!

Very happy with this desk
I did a lot of online searching for a good standing desk as I've been reading more and more about the benefits of standing vs. sitting. I work from home and while my employer provides most of my work equipment, I had to purchase this on my own dime. Like others, I looked closely at the Varidesk, but it was nearly double the cost and after reading so many positive reviews here on this Standing DeskRiser by House of Trade, I decided to give it a try. It arrived at 11:35am yesterday and I had a client web training session at 12:00. So I asked myself, "Dare I attempt to set it up in time for my webinar? Why yes...I think I will." And I did and it worked great. No assembly required. It's a bit heavy and cumbersome to move around, but once I got it positioned where I wanted it on my desk, all I had to do was put my dual monitors on the top riser and wireless keyboard and mouse on the lower tray, which easily slides out. It seems very sturdy and well put together. Also, the top riser had enough room not only for my dual monitor setup, but for my notes and a large textbook. Some mentioned the difficulty with raising it. My dual monitor is attached to a stand, which in itself is quite heavy, so it did take a bit of effort to raise it at first, but nothing too difficult. And lowering it is very easy when I'm ready to sit down for a bit. I like that when I squeeze the handles to lower it, the top riser doesn't plummet down immediately. All I had to do was push down a bit and it gently lowered. So I've had no concerns about my monitors toppling off the top while I'm raising or lowering it. The only minor "con" I have so far is the width of the keyboard tray. My keyboard and mouse fit, but the mouse pad curls up a bit and I don't have as much mouse room as I'm used to. But this is not a dealbreaker for me and I I found a thinner mousepad which works fine, so I think that will be something I can get used to. I don't think there's any way they could have made the keyboard tray wider without making the entire thing wider. It's already pretty large and takes up a fair portion of my big executive desk, so I wouldn't want it to be any bigger.
