Striking Clock Repair Guide

This book was highly recommended by several knowledgeable sources. It is generally helpful, although I find others to fit my learning style better.

It's a good reference book and was worth the price learning how to properly set up the strike on one of my Seth Thomas clocks without guesswork.

Great repair guide [especially for the beginner like myself]. Steven's use of pictures and diagrams fully supports his discussion of repair topics and assists with learning the various parts, their names and function. A great follow-on to his "Basic Repair Guide". Although some prefer hard bound books, I like the loose spiral binding, it allows the reader to keep the page of interest open for reference while working at the bench. I will be ordering his "Chiming Clock Repair Guide" in the near future as well! His dedication to informing people interesting in clocks is evident. A must to have for beginners and expert. If you decide to start a clock repairing hobby you need this.It covers the most common old clocks American and not.

I am very pleased with these books. I have several now as each general class of clocks are often broken into further categories for specifics. They help immensely.

Good enough guide but does not have all types. I need Ships clock striker movements. No joy.

I thought there would be more info on clock repair but its pretty much just about adjusting the striking mechanism not on the rest of the clock. It is helpful though if that is what you are looking for and it is well written.

Purchased as a gift for my husband as he has been restoring and repairing clocks for many years. The book he found very thorough, great photos, and educational.
