What's great about this model is you can control the VOLUME of the alarm (beep) feature or simply turn the alarm off. The other timetimer models either have no alarm at all or you can only turn the alarm on or off. You can tell the difference between the models by looking at the back: no alarm models have no flip switch, alarm on/off models have a flip switch, adjustable alarm models have a dial knob.

My time timer is one size smaller than the one you are asking about and it is 7.5 x 5.5 x 1. The face is 4 3/4. We have been very happy with it. You don't hear it ticking so you might think it doesn't work, but it is moving. I like that because my child has to realize time is moving even if there is no ticking.
