Exceptional instrument
this is my first violin. I’m turning 60 and realizing it’s never too late to learn an instrument that you love. I decided for my first violin to have an electric one that is quiet because I live in a townhome and I figured while I learn the neighbors do not need to be suffering through it. The Yamaha sounds perfect without an amp, just loud enough that you can practice and yet effortlessly pump up the volume through an amp at your discretion. The fit and form is impressive and the feel is exceptional. Fellow students remember to put a lot of Rosin on your bow or else this is truly the quietest violin you’ll ever experience.... but once you have sufficient Rosin on the bow it produces a beautiful sound.

I’ve played the SV 101 for years. This is a huge step up. My battery budget has dropped to zero and I don’t have to compensate for the legendary preamp buzz. Battery free with clean sound and a very cool new look. Thank you, Yamaha!!

Excellent violin
This is the best electric violin in budget. Electric violin shop had it tuned and checked it so it was ready to play. They even set a personalized hand written note which was so nice of them. I would love to buy from them in future. The violin itself is amazing and has a great sound(given u get a good acoustic amplifier). Very satisfied with my buy.

Surpassed all expectations.
Wanted a quiet violin/fiddle. Was wearing an earplug to save the hearing in my left ear. This is great. It feels good, plays easily, and sounds great. I usually play it without an smplifier. Added a Roland Cube GX amplifier for when I want volume. Tune that for a warmer sound and love it. The amp is further from my ears and the volume is easy to control to avoid hearing damage. Use a $300 wooden bow.
