I purchased this for a homeschooling project to do with my five kids. I needed a compass quickly, and saw the positive reviews and went for it. I absolutely love that it has a string. This made it simple for my four year old son to hang on his neck and keep close on our nature walk. It was very simple to use and has a nice, big and easy to read orienting lines, arrow, and magnetic needle. It is well-built and a good value. I am planning to order more so each kid can carry one on future nature walks. It's light, portable, and very user-friendly--even for little ones.
