When using them with a Smallrig® Aluminium Alloy 15mm Rods 2.5 Inch 63.5mm Long with 1/4"-20 Threads for Clamp Mount - 1590...... they appear to be about 15mm give or take a millimeter I believe.

Are these rustproof in salt water? I plan to use them on a surfboard to connect a Joby Suction Cup with a GoPro mount.

The authentic SMALLRIG parts are stainless steel. I have not been able to find any claim of specific SS formulation, but it's most likely 304. 304 is not the best for saltwater applications (316 is much more common for saltwater exposure). I assume you will only expose the parts for relatively short periods. The SMALLRIG adapters should work well. You shouldn't see any rust after a day's use. If you disassemble your rig at the end of the day and rinse with fresh water, I doubt you will have any problems.
