We already own the Festool RS 2E power sander which uses the same size sandpaper, so this hand sanding block with dust extraction compliments that tool nicely. I use it for "between finish coat" sanding. Very well made.

Perfect for my use
I'm not sure what this was made for - some folks appear to use it for automotive bodywork. I use it to sand ties down flat when hand laying model train rail. A long sander is required to maintain a nice flat surface and the dust extraction keeps the room tidy. Works great for this hobby! Fairly simply made - but suspect this is a low volume production. 3M makes the sandpaper which fits perfectly with properly spaced holes.
