Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 replacement
So after trying to replace the blown stock sub with a cheap alternative (pyle plg64) and having it go up in smoke in less than a week, I decided to find a beefier alternative. First impression is that this speaker appears to be built well. I thought the tiny amp in the ProMedia didnt have a chance to move this speaker. I tried wiring the 2ohm dvc in series and parallel. at 1ohm, it was super distorted but the klipsch amp had no problem powering the sub for the short time i tried it. It probably would fry the amp over time, but i was curious how it wouldve worked. It was basically a rattle machine all the way down to 1/4 turn on the bass knobAt 4ohms, i felt it probably wasnt as loud as the factory sub, but it also doesnt sound like a loud fart rattle at max volume like the stock speaker did. It does seem to go lower though. But the real beauty is that at max volume, it doesnt seem to have any problem handling the power like the factory sub. Overall, i think it probably sounds a little smoother. I cant do a side by side comparison, but i really like this as an option for replacement. It murders the pyle plg64 which did get better after it broke in but never came close to sounding as good as the factory sub. The cabinet is probably on the small side for this sub, but it brings the system back to life, so thats all i could ask for.The sub barely fits once it's wired up, but it does fit. Obligatory mention of klipsch promedia sub replacement quirks:1. The grill wont fit back on, but the speaker fits nicely and doesnt look bad without the grill.2. The factory connector on the negative side will need to be snipped off and replaced with a standard size one, but youll be doing a similar job just to make the jumpers to wire the dvc properly anyway.3. The factory sub was a 6 ohm speaker, i chose to get a 2 ohm dvc to wire it in series to 4ohms rather than get the 4ohm dvc and wire it to 8ohms. Im not sure what the longevity of the amp will be like, but i can imagine at 8ohms, it wouldnt be loud enough. I'd be curious if it would be passable at 2ohms if someone wants to give it a shot.If this sub improves after it breaks in like the pyle did, I'd say its a huge upgrade over stock. As for now, i'd say its probably a very tiny downgrade in outright loudness but a slight upgrade in the less distortion and lower frequency response department. Overall, i'd recommend this over a cheap replacement speaker all day. its a beast.

Great upgrade for Honda Element EX.
Excellent sub. Easy install in my 2005 Honda Element EX 5 speed. I soldered larger connectors onto the factory wiring and drilled a couple of holes for two of the four screws, otherwise this was plug and play.I'm a professional bassist and this was exactly the sound quality I was looking for. I'm using a 2022 10 inch Eonon Android head unit that was plug and play with the factory amp using an ISO adapter kit.Installed Polk Audio 6.5 coaxial all around years ago and this really rounded the system out. The price for the Skar driver had me skeptical, I highly recommend it for an adult subwoofer upgrade on a Honda Element. Will it do the other fender rattling type thing? Beats me. Not what I was looking for, I wanted a musical sub that could cover a range of musical styles. The Eonon Q03Pro head has a 48 band EQ and loads of advanced controls for dialing in exactly the sound I wanted.

Sound and feel
Makes a lot of bass for a 6.5 works great on a ct1000w amplifier if you tune it right also needs a good tuned box to make it hit harder it over all it’s great

Really good sound for the price, beets the kicker compRT at lower wattage!
I bought some of these to replace the blown door speakers in my 2017 audi q5 with B&O.First off the B&O is garbage and I couldn't find any specs on them so I bought the dual 2 ohm speakers, wired in series for a 4 ohm load just to play it safe and not risk burning up the factory amp. (I'm sure the dual 4 ohm wired in parallel to produce a 2 ohm would hit way harder if I knew I could get away with it on my amp safely). These speakers perform very well and to my surprise produce good mid level sound as well. Unfortunately the speakers are too deep to fit in the front doors :(. Worked great in the back doors but I did have to make custom MDF spacer/adapters for all 4 doors.I installed much shallower 6.75 Kicker compRT in the front doors and the skars in the rear. Comparatively, they are much better than kickers which cost $100 a piece! Sound way better all the way around on the factory amp than the kickers as well! Idk how they would compare with the kickers with a real aftermarket amp, maybe I just am not driving them with enough power. Bottom line is these are fantastic for the price, even better than kickers at lower wattage (about 50w per speaker). One negative about the company, amazon doesn't sell this directly, they just sell it 3rd party so if you need to return any you have to deal with skar directly. It took 2 weeks to get the speakers, and when they didn't fit they tried to make me pay for the return shipping. Had to get Amazon to step in and help.

Small size great clean power
This was a perfect match for my SKAR evl 6.5 subwoofer. It's amazing how much bass you can get out of a 6.5 subwoofer with a good ported box. The adjustability of the amp was easy and precise. Makes my speaker go boom.

Powerful Bass Potential for the Right Setup
I recently installed the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 6.5" 400 Watt subwoofer in my 2015 Lexus CT200h factory subwoofer box, and although I'm not experiencing its full potential, I can still appreciate its capabilities. Please note that my review is based on my specific setup limitations, but I believe this speaker has great potential when paired with the right amplifier.First and foremost, the installation process was a breeze. The speaker fit perfectly in my factory subwoofer box, making it a seamless upgrade. The build quality of the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 is evident, with its sturdy construction and durable components. It is clear that this speaker is built to last. Now, onto the sound. Due to the limitations of my car's factory amplifier, I'm only able to hear a fraction of the bass that this speaker is capable of producing. However, I believe the issue lies with my car's power output rather than the speaker itself. Despite the limited bass response, I can still perceive the potential that lies within the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2.Considering the value for money, this speaker offers a solid investment. While I'm unable to fully exploit its capabilities, I recognize that it is designed for enthusiasts who are seeking powerful and deep bass. If you have a compatible amplifier that can provide the necessary power, I believe this speaker will truly shine and deliver an exceptional audio experience. In summary, the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 is a well-built and impressive subwoofer, despite my current setup limitations. Its easy installation and durable construction make it a great choice for car audio enthusiasts. While I can't provide a comprehensive review of its sound quality, I am confident that with the appropriate amplifier, this speaker will deliver outstanding bass performance. I would definitely consider purchasing the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 again, but next time, I will ensure that my audio system can fully unleash its potential.

Get the right box and it sounds incredible!
This is a very good subwoofer. I bought this sub to put it in an old Klipsch subwoofer box that I had lying around. I added a longer port to tune it up and it plays deep! It sounds good down to about 28hz which I never thought would be possible to get out of a subwoofer this size! I’d recommend you tune your own box for this since all other pre-made boxes are tuned too high and make these sound too boomy and not bassy. It gets really loud and looks cool having a thick rubber ring for excursion. The video might sound kind of bad since it rattles everything at a higher volume. The amp I am using is underpowered for this subwoofer but it still sounds incredibly powerful. This sub sounds like a 10 inch inside a car and although it is a little quieter than one it punches deep like one!

Decent quality
I installed these into the factory mounting locations on a 02 camaro, after a bit of clearancing. These speakers are decent quality for the money and hit pretty hard but I wasn't all that impressed with them. I upgraded to some Cerwin Vega VMaxx subs. The CW's sound better, hit harder and can take more power. Plus the CW's are far higher quality and it shows the moment you take them out of the box.Moving these Skar units over to a small box that I'll gift to a friend.

Very impressive!
These little things work awesome! People are completely blown away when I show them. I installed 2 behind the seat in small sealed box in a 34 ford pickup, and everyone thinks I have a 10 or 12” sub. Very impressive
