Lock does work well. Did get one sample that was defective. Replacement unit worked fine. The unit that was defective could not be set up with a new lock combination .

This lock jammed at the most inopportune time. I was returning from a trip and had to check my carry on a commuter jet. Since I had important documents inside I had locked the case with this lock. Also inside were my car keys. When I arrived and got my carry on back the lock would not open. A kind TSA agent (yes there are some) tried to open the lock with the TSA key and it would not open. He finally got his bolt cutters and cut the lock off. I have had two of these locks and both had the same problem. The second lock I cut off myself.

I purchased the lock for one of my new cases (I use them on every case I own) but this one came with one small issue. It was used, and a password was already set on it. After 30 minutes of trying every combination I could starting from 001 going up, it landed on 381 and it opened. I was then able to reset the lock with my code. Other than that, it's an amazing lock.

Great lock. But doesn't fit pelican cases very well. Needs longer hook

The padlock air security bypass whole is on the wrong side. Trying to open the officers seriously damaged the Nanuk case If you turn the padlock around, it is very difficult to enter the release combination This calls for a major redesign
