Mannol 400ml Intake Valve Cleaner

Gave my engine’s lungs a shower — and now it breathes like a champ. I grabbed this MANNOL Intake Valve Cleaner because my van’s engine was beginning to grumble, cough, and act like it was trying to sing for help every time I stopped at traffic lights. The intake tract was probably uglier than my DIY paint jobs. One spray later, and I swear the engine took a deep, relieved breath. All that built-up soot, oil and carbon – you know, the stuff that accumulates on idle valves, throttle-bodies and intake passages – dissolved like it got an eviction notice. After a short run at idle (as per instructions), the rough idling and hesitation vanished. Things started smoother, the idle steadied, and the revs responded properly — no more lag when pressing the clutch or gunning the throttle. Pros: Cleans carbon, oil, resin and soot from intake valves and throttle areas without needing to dismantle the intake. Can improve idle smoothness, throttle response, and fuel-air flow — good for older engines or ones that get stressed often (like vans doing plumbing runs). Simple spray-on application. Quick job, minimal faff compared to a full intake teardown. Potential caveats: It’s a strong aerosol (contains solvents) — so don’t be messing about with painted plastics or bare paint around the engine bay when spraying. You still need to follow instructions (engine temperature, revs, after-spray run) — otherwise you’ll get less benefit. Five stars. If your engine’s breathing feels clogged, this cleaner is like a plumbing snake for your intake — it clears the crap, gets airflow flowing, and makes everything run smoother.

Had a problem with my Ford C-max. Irregular idling revs. Very sluggish uptake if you slowed in second gear and then tried to accelerate again in same gear (which you do all the time in London!). Also issues with it spluttering and stalling at junctions and when reversing into parking spots. This product did exactly what I hoped it would do. Sprayed it into the throttle valve and I wiped away the deposits I could see. Image 1 is before, image 2 is after obviously. Gave it a good spray inside the throttle body too to be sure. Here’s a tip, don’t push the valve open manually if it’s electronically operated as that has the potential to damage. Instead turn the ignition to power on (don’t start the engine), then brace the accelerator pedal hard down inside the car to open the valve. The engine will be a bit rough immediately after treatment. I had revs spiking erratically and lots of spluttering. I thought I’d messed up, but it just needed a short run to settle everything down. Back to the product. It’s great stuff! Having used it it’s like driving a different car!!! Seller was great too, despatched promptly, no issues!

This worked well, leaving a lovely clean throttle valve. I only know this as I had to take apart the intake to investigate a problem after using this. Turns out there is a small clear nozzle at the end of the tube that is supplied. I didn't see this when pushing the tube in but the nozzle came off of the tub and fortunately was caught by the valve. It's on me rather than the product (although making the nozzle not clear would be an idea) but thought it worth pointing out to ensure no one does the same as me but is less lucky with the results

This product does what it suppose to. I recommend getting two or more depending on what you need it for. I got one to clean a throttle body and by the end of it the bottle was finished.
