Creative Roots Paint Your Own Stepping Stone Kit, Handprint

I was able to snag this adorable stepping stone at a discounted price, and it made the perfect end-of-year gift for my daughter's preschool classmates as they head off to kindergarten. It comes with basic paint colors to get started right away. Although these are stepping stones, they are not meant to be stepped on as they are hollow inside. It's a wonderful devoration for children of all ages to create a special keepsake that can be treasured for years. I highly recommend it!

I bought a 3 pack of these for my sons and a friend to do during a playdate. They really enjoyed it and it gave them a good opportunity to be creative! The main thing I would note, though, is that despite the label, these CANNOT actually be used as stepping stones. They're ceramic and are hollow inside, so they would absolutely break if stepped on, even by a child. Also, I don't know how well the paint will hold up outside in the elements, so I'm planning on putting some type of clearcoat on them to protect them a bit. Knowing these things, I would buy them again as they did enjoy them and will like seeing them outside.

We painted these and put them in our backyard. They have been out there for several months and have not faded or looked dirty. Very cute product!

Okay. My nieces have painted several of these - they love coming over here to craft with me. A few things to know are - sometimes the paints are skimpy - barely enough is provided. I’ve bought enough of these (my mom has as well) to see inconsistencies in the amount of paint provided.it’s only happened twice but twice out of 6 seems like it’s pretty common. Not a problem for me - I’m an artist and have tons of acrylic paints but this might be an issue for others. Another thing to know - there’s a small number of colors provided - not all the colors you’ll see on the box. So - that means you’ll have to teach the kids how to mix other colors to get some of the colors pictured (red+white=pink, for example). Lastly - despite these being called STEPPING STONES - these are not sturdy and are DECORATIVE only! Right after finishing one, my sister put one of the girls stepping stones in the garden and the 2 year old stepped on it and it immediately broke in several places. It’s held somewhat in tact by the soil it was placed deeply into, but yeah - just so you know - don’t ever step on these stepping stones LOL. Knowing these things - I still say it’s a good deal to buy the multipacks and I’ll probably buy again. I just wanted people to be aware of these details before purchasing. They’re a lot of fun and my nieces (ages 7, 4 and 2) had great times painting these - you can’t go wrong spending time with little ones and creating things they’re proud of.. These come already formed - no mixing, no molds, etc - they’re ready to paint - which is great if you only have a short time for crafts but they’re detailed enough that you can take your time and be at it for a while. I recommend.

I bought this for my granddaughter's birthday and was really pleased with it. It is such a cute shape of this unicorn and it's so easy to paint. There's no assembly required. The paint goes on smoothly and adheres to it perfectly. They have a variety of products from this company. I had bought previously a turtle for my grandson and he loved it. It is definitely age-appropriate for any child. It doesn't matter if they paint it and it's not neat or in the designated lines, it's fun for any child to paint and feel good about themselves for making something. It would be good for children from ages 3 and up

This is a super cute little thing for your kid or yourself to do. I got it for my son today. He is in the middle of painting it. Sometimes he paints stuff and stops then continues whenever. I do think it's age appropriate for children. The size of it could be a little bit bigger for the price you pay but also this isn't something that breaks the bank to buy. The paint is a little off color-wise compared to the picture. I don't know why this is labeled as a stepping stone as I do not see this being strong enough for someone to actually step on it. Either way if you get like a clear coat after painting it it would be super cute to still put outside where it won't be stepped on. If you flip it over it is very obvious it's hollow on the inside. I did personally mix two paint colors together to make a color more similar to one of the pinks picture it on the box. My son likes to copy the box the way it's painted lol. Nothing to diminish a star away but shouldn't be labeled as a stepping stone lol.

We had so much fun with these stepping stones! The quality was excellent, and they provided the perfect surface for decorating. Although the kit came with paint, I decided to use acrylic paint markers instead, and the results turned out absolutely amazing. The stones were sturdy, easy to work with, and made a fun and creative project. I was really impressed with how well they turned out and would definitely recommend this kit to anyone looking for a fun craft activity to do with children or a personalized garden decoration.

Got these for my son to paint for Mother’s Day (for his grandma) and it came with so many more paint colours then just the colours used in the pictures, which is great if you want to be more creative. The paint was good quality and my son (3) had a blast. I put some mod lodge over them so that they would last longer in the garden and being outdoors. Time will tell but overall I’d buy these again for sure! High quality.

Great gift idea for an Easter gift. Highly recommended for 5 year old to 10 year old.
