Super easy to set up and works just like it's advertised to perform.
Super easy to set up. Just press one button and pair it with a cell phone. My old rotary phone works just like it did in 1970. Pick up the receiver and hear a dial tone. Dials out and receives calls just like it is designed to do. It automatically reconnects to my cell phone when I pull in the driveway. I'm not sure of the max range, but it connects from my bedroom, through the walls of my home, and another 30 feet out to my car. Sound quality is just as good as your cell phone sound quality. My clarity and quality of the sound received and transmitted is perfect. With this model you can link up to two different cell phones via Bluetooth, so if either receives a call the old rotary phone can be used. I love the nostalgia. I'm thinking of getting one for my car to impress my friends lol.

The easiest way to use a real, old-fashioned phone, without a lot of technical hassle
About a year ago, I decided I was sick of cell phones and wanted to be able to talk on a "real, old-fashioned" phone. At first I bought a MagicJack and plugged it into my computer, which worked fine with an 2002 SW Bell phone I bought on Ebay. However, when I decided to switch to a 1978 Princess phone (not the one in the picture, which I have since traded for the yellow, 2003 Crosley Princes repro), I found that the phone emitted a high-pitched whine when hooked up to the MagicJack. Since I had really fallen in love with the idea of a Princess phone, I began to search for a MagicJack alternative. After considering a variety of options, I decided that since, for practical reasons, I can't really ditch my cell phone entirely, this XLink BT2 might fit the bill. And it does! So easy to set up: just plug in the XLink to a power supply, plug the phone into the XLink, and push one of the buttons to pair it (via Bluetooth) with my mobile phone. In fact, it is paired with two different phones. It worked great with my original Princess phone and now works great with my Crosley Princess reproduction. When my cell phone and I are out and about, (out of Bluetooth range) my "real" phone doesn't ring, so it's not a bother to others in the house. Sound is very good, and I can use it to answer any calls that come in on my cell phone, including those that ring my MagicJack android app and my Google Voice app -- so it's like having an entire switchboard attached to my little Princess. I wish I'd done this a year ago.

Finally got my wife to bail on our old landline!
After finally getting my wife to bail on our old landline, I had the vestiges of the old POTS service scattered all around the house. (including the wall mounted Trimline in the water closet - VERY handy when business is in process). Then I thought that someone must have figured out how to breathe new life into that legacy equipment. Enter Xtreme Technologies XLink! This reasonably priced little device connects easily to the existing wiring of the home and lights-up quite a few of those old phones - even my Dad's old Western Electric model 2500 works like it did on POTS. I put my unit on the nightstand near my cell phone's wireless charger. The XLink is easy to install (as others have noted - be sure to disconnect your home from the telephone service at the demarc - typically just unplug an RJ-11). The only dig on the unit is that it has a seemingly dominant bluetooth connection which appears to take over when using the connected cell phone's "handset" or speakerphone features. Not too big of a deal - sometimes I just disable the cell phone's bluetooth when directly using that phone at the house. Congratulations to Xtreme Technologies for meeting a need for us long-in-the-tooth folks who like the convenience of not having to trundle around looking for the cell phone to answer a call.

Amazing!
I wanted a rotary phone for nostalgia, but I don't have a landline. I found this item and decided to give it a try. It installs easily and works well. You can connect two mobile phones to it via Bluetooth. When my mobile phone is called, it rings with the classic ring. When my spouse's phone is called, it gives a slightly, yet discernibly different ring. It's interesting that I am able to dial out using the rotary phone. Sometimes I have to reboot the device, or reconnect to it, but that is not often. When I cannot connect to it, I receive pop-up on my phone that says "Cannot connect to XLink Gateway". That's when I either reconnect to it via Bluetooth or reboot the device. I liked it so much, I bought another.

Works with vintage 70s and 80s phones
Amazing device - works with several of my vintage telephones. My western electric model 500 works perfectly along with my 1987 cordless telephone. Supports caller ID as well. Because this works with both Android and iPhone, I am able to take teams and zoom calls with this. The reaction to colleagues hearing me on either vintage phone is priceless.

Almost perfect But **Now Updated**
UPDATE TO UPDATE***** Now besides dropping Bluetooth connection on some calls there is a massive static attack while using home wired phone....could this be a bad unit? *** UPDATE *** So after about 3 weeks of flawless performance the unit is now dropping Bluetooth almost every day and sometimes twice a day. The unit is plugged into the same outlet with the same cords and in the same location never moved. Problem is addressed by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in which is a real hassle. Not to mention the undependable feeling factor. I so wanted this to work. If I find a resolution I will update Original posting Everything woks as advertised and was easily installed. I only have one mini gripe...no ability to call out on either line using home phones. Right now I can answer either line but calling out from the home phone is restricted to the first installed (paired) phone. Clarity is good and no funky background sounds.

Allowed us to continue using house phones and answering machine through cell phone
We were tired of Verizon charging us $90+ per month for basic landline service, so converted the number to a cell phone for 1/3 the price. My mother is tech-illiterate however, so she DID NOT want to use a cell phone. That meant continuing to use the house phones and answering machine. Voicemails would not go to the bluetooth answering machine we bought for this purpose, but then we found this product. All you have to do is disconnect the main phone line into the house, plug it in to a phone port, and pair it to a cell phone. Calls from the cell now ring throughout the house, and voicemails go to the home answering machine. And there is even a dial tone on the house phones. Audio quality might be slightly worse than the landline, but overall it's a great way to save money with zero disruption to lifestyle.

Great for vintage phones! Love it!!
This works exactly as it should. I'm in nostalgia heaven! Using my old northern telecom phone! It's great because I get to use it and don't need to give people another phone number to call me on! Love this so much!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Amazing
So easy to install and works perfectly!! I had been wanting to use my old rotary phone for years and could not imagine paying for a landline…then I stumbled on this and was hopeful but still a bit wary until it arrived. It took a minute to set up and to my very pleasant surprise worked exactly as advertised!! I can receive calls on the old phone (oh that classic ring!!!) and also make calls with it! Yes! The rotary dial makes the phone call. I was so excited and now I just have to convince more people to call vs text :)
