Does what it says...
I never used a metronome much unless I had to. Sometimes you have to.40 years ago I had a wooden pyramid. 30 years ago a little Seiko thing the size of a credit card that went bip bip bip. Recently I started playing Ceilidh and learned to read using the met tool on my Zoom R16 (& an Alesis SR18). Looking for something to take to beginners practice sessions and I think this is probably it. Loud. I think loud enough for a small group with fiddles, flutes, guitars and accordions without running it thru an amp... which you'd need for a full band or orchestra. The clave sample is good, tho' it goes high low low low rather than LOUD soft soft soft, like the Zoom, which I'm used too. But I only unboxed a couple of hours ago and I'm adaptable. Likewise the agogo. But the cowbell is very high and sounds like the bip bip of my old Seiko. The electric one is a horrible brrrrp brrrp but I can see it might cut thru with some instrumentations. So ok.The note function gives a chromatic octive with a tone like an old stylophone (why not a sine wave?), but it's adjustable well out of A440 up and down, so ok.The beats. From 0 (tock), 1 (tick), 2 (tick tock) up to 9 (tick tock tock tock...), then triplets and some dotted swing patterns. Then clave patterns (If you don't know, think 'bo diddly' or 'not fade away'... bum di-bum di-bum, bum-bum), it's for latin stuff. Check out congamasterclass.com on youtube, for example. I will have uses for that. The unit is a little larger and lighter than I expected but... with some reservations, at the price I'm going to have to give it a five.

easy to set and clear with sound and flashing light
This is a marvellous metronome - loud, easy to set and clear with sound and flashing light. It has been perfect for my 7 year old son's piano practice - he is going into grade 4 with its help in a few weeks. I was in two minds as I used an application on my iPhone before - this is so much better and simpler and we use a metronome far more because of how easy it is to set. The phone apps are fiddly and have too many options for my liking...

outstanding bit of kit
if you want a loud metronome look no further, this has so many beats and sounds it will have you playing a song in time....er......in no time, good visual timing light at the top of the metronome as well, great delivery time, from amazon, couldn't be without it now when I am learning a new song/songs

Great!
i was getting increasingly frustrated with my previous electronic metronome as the sound was not loud enough and decided to replace it with a better product. i chose Korg KDM2 after reading Amazon reviews, and am really happy i did. it is very easy to use and the sound is strong and clear.

A good metronome
This is good for tapping and finding out how fast a beat is, and also as a simple metronome. It would be better if the volume could be controlled or the sound changed, but for the price it's OK. I went on to buy a Korg KR-MINI rhythm machine too which is much better.
