Best and most effective laundry detergent ever!! Defunkify cleans everything from the grossest work or camping wear to the most delicate lingerie effortlessly. Have used it for over 8 years with great success on bras to horse blankets. Very high efficiency, easy to use, cleaning with just a small amount, safe for all fabrics I've tried including silk, no residue, economical. I like the unscented but they do have nice scents, too. Gets the grime and odors out of your clothes with it's enzyme formula. Safe for delicate skin and the environment. Some heavily dirty items may need a little soaking. This is the best laundry product we've ever used.

I add this to my regular detergent (both scent free due to scent sensitivities), because the regular detergent is cheaper than these. About a quarter of the regular load measurement for a full load in a big front load washer. Workout / sweat-sodden / stinky clothing is fresh and scent-free (of all odors) after a single wash. Amazon is also figuring out how to ship these without leaks, which is great.

Daverat's Wife Speaking: We began using this when our house was sold and we moved into a Condo, having to share a laundry room with people who toss smelly workout clothes into the washers without a thought for the people who use the washer next. We'd put our clothes in dirty but not bad-smelling and they'd come out dirtier and smelly! I tried using washing machine cleaners before doing my laundry, but nothing worked. A nurse friend recommended this brand, and I will never go back to Tide! It does the job! No more stinky clothes from other people's armpits or ball sweat! The clothes come out CLEAN and with NO ODOR. I use the liquid, which is very concentrated. I do have sensitive skin and Defunkify has never irritated my skin in any way. I used to add scent beads to try and cover up the odors of biological deposits left on my clothes from using a communal washing machine but now, it is no longer necessary. I do still pay to run a load with a washing machine cleaner a couple times a month because we have people that use far too much detergent, scent beads and other crap and it builds up, but in general, if it is a single home washer, Defunkify is all you will ever need. I have washed my own workout clothing or very sweaty clothing and this stuff really is good at breaking down what is called Biofilm, the dead skin, and body secretions that are particularly stinky. Also, being a married couple, this is very good for bedding, if you catch my meaning. I would suggest that if you NEED a scent on your clothing, use a scented dryer sheet instead of s scented laundry detergent and use Defunkify on all your loads. Some of my neighbors who frequently wash their clothes right after I do, have told me that even THEIR clothes smell better now, so Defunkify is doing exactly what it claims to do: get rid of Biofilms and dirt that would normally redeposit on your laundry AND preventing the buildup of Biofilm in the machine itself. The clothes have NO smell at all and stay fresh for months in my closet if stored properly next to other clean clothing. If you stick some musty item next to your clen clothes, those clothes will smell musty too. Therefore, you may want to do what I did, and slowly cycle all your clothing thru a wash with Defunkify! I cannot recommend this more highly! Defunkify has also turned out to be a great value for the price. It is easy to measure and load for load, far cheaper than Tide Pods or other detergent Pods. I do use dryer sheets of a different brand with no scent for softening and static control. Defunkify replaces detergent Pod, scent beads, liquid fabric softener and Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, all expensive products. You need to factor that into the value of this excellent detergent!

This worked better than my regular detergent. Clothes and linens smelled fresher after using it. But it didn't get everything out. My husband is a hot sleeper and sweats a lot, leaving the sheets discolored. This didn't get the discoloration out. Soaking in Oxiclean is still the only thing that works. I'll keep using this for regular laundry though. No fragrance/ scent so it doesn't bother my allergies, and I can use it on baby items.

TMI WARNING: I bought this because I use the period undies for very light bladder leakage, I also use the lume deodorant so the undies were getting funky. I poured the detergent directly on the undies using way more than they said to and then washed them in with other clothing of the same colors as normal but also used the capful that they suggested per load. The undies came out so clean-no funky smell and the rest of the laundry was also pretty clean. The scent doesn’t really make it past the rinse cycle but I used my washer whiffs and fabric softener for “smell good”. I originally thought this was going to be a detergent that I would only use for stinky/funky stuff but now I use it for my work clothes and my work undies (scrubs) because I sweat a lot at work. It’s pricey but worth it if you just want the funk out.

After years of use we have gone back to Tide Ultra Hygenic Clean. Defunkify was good at the start but then their formulation changed and our clothes stopped getting clean. Eventually a smell started setting into our clothes that at best could be described as an old person smell. I did multiple baking soda + vinegar tub cleans in the washer, I did afresh tub cleans, I did uproot tub clean washes and nothing alleviated this smell. I was going crazy trying to figure out where the smell was coming from. It took talking with chat GPT amd doing some tests to eventually rule out that our laundry detergent was simply not cleaning our clothes. I did a sniff test where I ran a load of clothes after a deep tub clean, put them in the dryer, then pulled a garment out from the dryer and instantly put it in a zip lock bag. I then took the bag with me to work the next day after being away from our house for hours to desensitize my sense of smell to the odor, opened the bag, took a whiff, and was punched in the face with that disgusting old person smell. Our vehicles had started smelling like it too where our clothes made contact with the seats. We switched to Tide Ultra Clean Hygenic and after 1 wash and the same smell test, no additional tub clean, the old person smell is non existent. Our closet and vehicles are starting to smell less and less like it. Needless to say Defunkify does not work anymore. Their new formula is garbage. I wish I could give it 0 stars as it was making us go insane. We are in the process of washing every single garment, blanket and piece of bedding to actually get them clean.

This stuff is amazing. Quick tip: I just by chance decided to mix a cap full of defunkify with perisil and with one wash, I noticed that brown sweat stains under the arms of some old tshirts that have been there for a decade, were just gone! Shocked me!

Love this so much! We stored items at a house with a musty smell and I could not wash it out of my bed linens. Tried everything including scent boosters, even though I don’t really like strongly scented laundry, and you could still smell the mustiness under the heavy perfume smell. Defunkify took out the musty smell and had almost no scent. The sheets just smell clean. I had no problem with fading. To test it, I washed the top sheet and pillowcases with Defunkify and then compared the color to the unwashed bottom sheet and there was no fading. In case it matters the sheets were 100% cotton and I can’t vouch for no fading on every fabric. I followed the instructions exactly and used the specified amount for my load size. I thought I was going to have to buy all new bedding but Defunkify saved them, which saved me so much money. If you have funky fabrics, I highly recommend this.
