Just to note that the picture shown on this thing (when I posted this at least) is completely the wrong product. The actual product is by MacLocks, and is a small fitting that goes on the side of a macbook to add a Kensington Security lock slot. That's it. Look up the product code at Maclocks if you want to see what it actually looks like. It's not 100% secure, as you can simply unscrew the thing, if you have the right screwdriver, but it uses the same pentalobe screws as the macbook case screws, which is a pretty hard to find screwdriver, so will significantly deter casual left, so long as you actually attach a kensington cable to the slot (which is *not* included). Most laptops have a built in kensington security slot, so you won't need this. Only the most recent macbook pros and airs don't, which is a pretty annoying. This product attaches to the same hole used by one of the case screws that come with the macbook, and the product includes a longer replacement screw as well as the required pentalobe screwdriver. Remember to keep the original screw safe in case you ever need to remove this product (I kept it in the provided ziplock bag, in my computer toolkit). A determined thief could wrench this loose from the laptop, but they would likely damage the laptop doing so. So it's not foolproof, but a significant deterrent if used sensibly. This product is 100% useless for tablets, so don't even think about it.
