Newsflash: Inventing products is a lot of Work!
What I learned from this book... how one person saw a need, developed a product to fit that need, got it built, got it sold, and got it in the hands of millions of consumers. What I learned is it's a lot of HARD WORK. It's a HUSTLE. Kudos to Lori for sharing some insight into her path and providing an example for others to follow. It is a quick read that gives a great overview of Lori's thought processes and highlights the problems she dealt with in bringing her first products to market, and building her brand. I felt the level of detail was sufficient enough, there are plenty of technical manuals out there if you want to learn more about patents or need to learn more about injection molding. While this may not give you the complete playbook of how to go from Zero to Millionaire, face it, no book will do that. I'm amused by the 3 star reviewers that think this book doesn't explain enough detail. Look at all the books on this topic, then read all of them. No book will teach you how to get six pack abs, find the love you deserve, and become a millionaire, all from your couch. Get out, hustle, work, read, work some more, read, learn, work, read, learn, hustle.

Sometimes you just need the push!
The book itself is well bound and easy to read. The anecdotal examples of what she did and regrets of things really humanized the experience. I knew who she was on Shark Tank but not what she had invented. If you take notes she really lays the step by step out for someone just on the verge of taking the steps from an idea to a marketable product. Also I love the repetition of the growth mindset.

Interesting, informative and entertaining!
Quite frankly, Lori Greiner is the only shark that I like on Shark Tank, which is why I picked up her book. I felt confident that I'd enjoy this seeing as I've always enjoyed Greiner's upbeat personality and I was correct in assuming that her positive attitude would come accross well in her book. What I enjoyed most was her personal antidotes along the way to her success stories. She shares her setbacks...her remedying those situations, and ultimately her path to success in her ventures. Her uplifting personality shines through in this book and one can help but get inspired to set out on their own path to success. Her advice and insight is very practical and non-intimidating. I found myself finishing this book rather quickly because it was so interesting, informative and entertaining. Highly recommended.

I never said before that I want to be like somebody else because I always acknowledge that I am ...
I never said before that I want to be like somebody else because I always acknowledge that I am the best version of myself and nobody else can replicate me, as me. But I have somewhat a personal vision of what I want to achieve in the entrepreneurial side of life, and Lori achieved and actually living that exact vision that I envisioned myself achieving in business in the not-so-distant future. I admire her business-savvy, her wit, and her intelligence. Her story, as told in this book, gives me motivation to go after my entrepreneurial dreams, and that I can achieve them if I work towards it, now, rather than later. No-doubt it was a huge leap-of-faith when she get started with her first product but her determination, persistence, and strong belief in herself made everything possible, and she achieved great things in business. This book is a gold-mine of information and inspirations. There is really no need to figure it out ourselves anymore, like its never done before, the path to her success has been spilled generously in this book, down to the numbers of how much it will cost to do this and that. All the unknowns and questions lingering in our minds that we simply cannot easily find answers to by browsing and searching online or spending hours in libraries unless someone, like Lori, have done and been doing in real life give you those answers basing on true-life experiences. The information shared in this book are based on years of actual experiences that she been through, so it would be hard or close to impossible to find a better book than this. If you have product ideas that you want to see realize for sale on supermarket and department store shelves, this book contains common questions that many of us may ask, that very few people actually have the true answers (basing on real life experiences).Hopefully in the not-so-distant future I will have the chance to present some of my product ideas to her as I have strong beliefs that these ideas are heroes, not zeros :-)

I gleaned some good info, but like most books like this one...
I gleaned some good info, but like most books like this, much of it is stating the obvious...As a Shark Tank viewer, I can say Lori (and most of them) apply double standards, and speak out of both sides of their mouths. Moreover, Lori's own patents she talks about are virtually all what are called "junk patents" (I am a patented inventor). These are patents that are technically patent-able, but were also never patented because nobody wants them; nor would anyone bother to try to steal them, or breech them. The patents then, create a niche market. Brilliant! The same can be done publishing books - "Author of 100 Books" - sounds impressive? huh... These are the types of 'secrets' they never tell you about in the 'get rich' books. If they did, they couldn't regurgitate the same info remixed for decades of new books.Though they could be patented, it was not at all necessary. (Meaning with a little money and imagination, you can get patents too...) This is a marketing ploy to make people look like brilliant innovators by accruing patent after patent on things they really didn't need patents on. With this perspective and a view of this book as marketing strategy there is some valuable information to be had.
