Would it happen to be waterproof at all?

Yes, it is fairly waterproof. I have used the tape on my plastic greenhouse covers and on plasting sheeting which I use to cover my screened in porch during the winter months. It has kept the rain and weather out.

Does it leave a sticky residue after it's removed?

I have used (and removed) this tape many times for years and only remember one time there was a minor residue left behind. No comparison to duct tape or clear packing tape. Highly recommend.
