Review: First time with induction - I tried induction for the first time and it was pretty neat! The pot got hot but the surface did not and the device itself didn't produce heat directly either! Though the device does have components that do get warm so there is a fan that runs when you use it to keep the components cool. This means that you don't have to worry about the surface you put the device on. That said, you do have to be mindful of magnetic surfaces or electrical devices being beat the cooker when in use. It works with electromagnets and coils to transfer heat to something within the electric field. While heat can only be transferred to things near the heater, the field itself ranges a little farther than that so you won't want your phone right next to it, probably at least a foot though they make a note of saying to make sure to keep things a few inches from the device so I would imagine a foot would be enough, though I'm not willing to test that... Make sure not to have it on a magnetic surface as well when in use. All that aside, it works well and I like having precise temperature controls. Funny enough, it isn't that much more difficult to make a pot/pan that works with induction so many pots and pans now adays have induction as a cooking option so many people probably don't even realize they can already use induction. The wattage controls makes it feel like a great item to have for camping when you might be somewhere where power is limited or perhaps making a large gumbo pot. It says that it can hold up to 50lbs so imagine even deep frying a turkey could be an option, all up to you. I plan to make Mac and cheese later but as a simple test, I heated a can of Spaghetti O's (basically soup). I had a hard time initially because I never pressed start. To start you need to either press start using default temperature) or set your temperature and press start. I imagine the program button also works as a start button since it will start a present, but I have no need for that right now. Either way, I like it so far. I picked this one over the other since it had more temperature control options and bigger is better. I figure I can get more use out of one I can use or anything than one that has a limitation, but if you wanted to get into induction, I would recommend either the gold or the flex. Hopefully if I have any issues later, nuwave will be helpful as other mark concerns.
Review: Who needs gas range when I can simply use this Powerful, Fast, and Shockingly Convenient - Who needs a gas stove or an outdoor burner when you have the Nuwave Precision Induction Cooktop? I cook a lot of fried fish and spicy dishes, and like most people, my kitchen vent doesn’t catch all the smoke or smell. So I started cooking on my deck using this cooktop, and it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve made. I plug it right into the outdoor outlet using a short extension cord, set it on my deck table, and I’m good to go. This thing heats FAST—it can simmer gently or sear at 450°F+ in seconds. It gives me gas-stove-level heat control without an actual flame. Perfect for frying fish, boiling, searing, or doing anything that normally stinks up the kitchen. The heat maintains in very accurate and precise temperature so it’s perfect for cooking food or desserts that need precision temperature. It’s awesome to maintain specific heat for fried food! My only “complaint”? I love it so much that now I want to replace all my pans and pots with induction-compatible ones… and I’m already considering upgrading to the higher-end Nuwave model. A few extra notes people may want to know: • Super easy to clean — wipe and done. • The surface does feel a little plasticky, which explains why some people complain about melting if hot oil splashes. I avoid issues by using a lid and wiping spills quickly. • Portable and lightweight, great for decks, patios, RVs, or backup cooking. • Heats more evenly than many gas burners I’ve used. I honestly wish I bought this years ago. I use it on my deck table almost every day, and it’s become my go-to for anything messy or smelly. Highly recommended.

## Features

- MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ON-THE-FLY – Want hotter temperature or need to cook it longer? No problem. Simply adjust on-the-fly any time. Starting the cooking process over is not necessary. Gold induction cooktop’s intuitive digital controls are easy to operate, and the response is immediate.
- 96 PRE-PROGRAMMED TEMPS - Select from the 6 convenient preset temperature settings or fine tune your own temperature from 100°F to 575°F in 5°F increments. You can also add or deduct cooking time at any time.
- SHATTER-PROOF CERAMIC GLASS – There are no open flames or hot coils that can cause burns. Unlike the competition, Gold’s heating surface is heavy-duty shatter-proof ceramic glass, which was rigorously tested to withstand intense heat without shattering. It is one of the safest cooktops on the market.
- FAST and EFFICIENT – Gold heats the pot directly transferring 85% to 90% of its electro-magnetic energy to heat energy! Traditional stovetops only convert about 30% of their heat for cooking. Cook faster without wasting energy and money.
- MELT CHOCOLATE - Mastery of the double boilers is not necessary. Simply set the Gold at 120°F; add chocolates into an induction-ready pot; and stir. It will never burn. Even preparing the most delicate sauces like Hollandaise, Beurre Blanc, and Beurre Fondue is no longer daunting.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you get an extended warranty?**
A: Im not sure but i think you can. Honestly, my NuWave's have all lasted a very long time each with daily use. I won't be without one.

**Q: Can this cooktop be set for lower wattages than the maximum of 1500 watts?**
A: Yes. There are settings for 600 and 900watts as well as the 1500

**Q: How big is the cooking area? Description says 8 inch, when boiling water, only the center 5 inch is boiling.**
A: The printed ring/ heating area is 8 inches in diameter. The cooktop has 2 glowing induction heat rings when it's on, a smaller inner about 5 inches and the outer 8 inch ring. I know that it adjusts which ring(s) to use depending on the size of the vessel being used. Not sure how it could differentiate whether you're boiling water or cooking something else. I boil water for pasta etc in a large pot and both inner and outter heat rings are on.
Hope that helps

**Q: Does the burner shut off when you flip your food?**
A: No it will not. The unit is designed to stop if the pan is removed for over 70 seconds. If a pan is removed for 10 seconds or less the PIC will automatically resume cooking once its placed back on the PIC. If the a pan is removed between 11-70 seconds the cooking will resume by pressing the "start" button.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best induction burner we’ve used.
*by M***5 on November 25, 2024*

This is third induction burner we’ve bought in the last two years. The other two quit for various reasons. This one is noticeably better than the others. This burner has a much better temperature adjustment. The first we bought basically had high, medium, low, and boil. It worked really well but you didn’t have a lot of room to adjust the temp. The second one showed the actual temperature but made huge jumps between the temps, like you could go from 260 to 212 to 150. On this burner you can change the temperature in increments of 5 - 10 degrees. It makes it so much easier to control how fast your food cooks. The magnetizing ring is bigger on this one. The other burners are big enough to sit a large pan on but the ring is so small that you can’t cook evenly. I do wish the ring on this pan was bigger than it is, but I think it is the biggest you can get and works really well. The controls on this burner are easy to use. It has some features that we don’t use like program cook and setting the cook time. We just use the basic buttons and the temp adjustment. All three burners require the pan to stay on the burner while the unit is on. The big difference is that if you lift the pan off the burner this one will beep once then pause cooking while the others will beep at you continuously and occasionally just refuse to turn back on. Lastly, this one is quieter than the others we’ve used. They all run a fan while cooking but the fan on this one is quieter and it turns off faster after cooking than the others did. The only thing I don’t love is the pause/clear button. I keep expecting to tap it once to pause cooking and tap again to resume cooking, but the second tap turns the burner off. There’s a separate start button that resumes cooking and turns the burner on. This is not a big deal and may not even be an issue for most people. There are five cooks in my home and we unanimously agree that this is the best burner we’ve had so far.
