Switch to a Switch, and skip the Hub Bub
I bought a ds-108 Netgear Hub it performed fine, I THOUGHT, when I looked closer it was not efficient in delivering the print jobs. The tech support from NetGear is FANTASTIC... and after talking to a few folks at Verizon, and the ISP I switched to a FS-108 switch. BIG difference. Really I can't see any reason to get a hub when you can get a switch. The cost difference is minimal but the performance difference is like comparing a candle to an electric light. Switch from the hub to a "SWITCH" Or continuing holding a candle to the electric light.

Works well, fast enough for our network.
This was needed for a project to check our ISP's claims of data usage. This (router ->this hub->switch to entire network) was the setup we decided to go with instead of getting a USB dongle as a second NIC, and as far as we can tell all of the packets hitting the router (including wifi) were captured by our Linux laptop running tcpdump and iftop.

That works great.
The unit did not work. Returned for full credit. Purchased a tplink switch with port mirroring instead. That works great.

No one really uses a hub anymore. I bought it for testing purposes. Worked fine. The adapter that came with it appears to have been from another device. A little loose when inserted in the back.

Great product, worked wonders for my internet woes.
Good stuff, right here. Been using ethernet hubs for awhile and noticed my connection was getting outrageously slow. This thing sped it back up, not where it was, but still better than nothing.

Good for packet sniffing
This is a network "hub", not to be confused with a network "switch". A switch and a hub basically do the same thing, except a hub sends all traffic through every port whereas a switch is more intelligent and only sends traffic to the port that is required to reach the intended destination. Therefore, a switch almost always provides better performance. A switch is probably what you actually want. This hub does exactly what it is supposed to. Every connected device can see the network packets sent by every other connected device, which allows you to analyze the packets if you so choose.

Amazon is Lying
They claim this product ships in 3-5 days. It doesn't. It doesn't even ship after the extra 3-5 days for super saving shipping. I ordered this product on 10/10/05 and it still hasn't shipped. And they won't let you change the order, even though I have received three messages stating that I "may be able to." Customer service claims it is "in the shipping process" which is clearly a lie. Don't buy it.
